I just renewed my 2008 XKR with Admiral for £210 fully comprehensive, with 10 years protected NCB, up to 8000 miles/year, social/domestic/pleasure/commuting use and fairly reasonable excesses. I get legal cover and a couple of other extras as well. I think that's pretty reasonably priced really.
Worth giving them a shout I'd say.

I pay £169 6000 miles class 1 business use and SDP from Churchill 1998 XKR Convertible. If you contact your existing insurer they would probably match the No claims of your other car and there are others who will do this too to get business.
If you join the xkec then members get classic insurance on any car over 10 years old rather than the 20 years requested if you contact the insurers direct. Very useful if you want a guaranteed valuation. The club chairman does letters to support this.

The JEC has some insurers that give good rates to members. Have a look on the right of this page:
Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Classic British Cars, Jaguar Owners Club, Jaguar Tool Hire, The largest Jaguar Club covering all models including E-type, S-type, X300, XJS, XJ, Mark 2, XK8

I found that multicar on my insurer (admiral) worked out pretty cost effective.
I've got 10K miles (mileage did not change it at all tbh) inc. business, NCB is on my other car (so nothing on the jag) and a few extras on the insurance (recovery, legal) and it works out at around £750 a year.
That may seem steep but given my age (<30) and the type of vehicle, that's pretty good.

When I got the XJ8 as a second car I had to shop around alot, as I only had NCD on my main car the X-Type and insurers wouldnt carry any of it onto the XJ.. I ended up with First Central in the end offering me the best rate for the XJ whilst I remained with Hastings Direct for my X-Type. Most insurers dont seem to give a better rate for 6000 miles over 12000 miles I found as well
