Ok.. we now have just five days until our event and quite a bit is still going on.

The last of the sponsorship items should be with me on Wednesday/Thursday. Massive thanks go out to our event sponsors for pulling out all the stops to ensure we have everything for the day.

We have had another attendee cancellation today, and one of our traders (Valet South East) will now be unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their control - should anyone want to take advantage of the free trade plot that is now vacant please let me know asap, and we may be able to fit you in.

We have also had further attendee signups by email, along with a few attendee enquiries via Facebook and Twitter giving us a slightly different mix of years and models as we approach the day.

So still quite a bit going on (no rest for the wicked they tell me :-) ) please keep an eye on the forum threads, twitter feed, Instagram feed, and Facebook page for the very latest as we approach the day and should anyone wish to take advantage of a vacant trade plot this weekend please get in touch :-)

Great numbers, prizes and just so much going on

I genuinely don't know how you manage it year after year Steve, I'm sure it'll be a great day as always and look forward to hearing about it.

Welcome to our JaguarForums Annual Convoy & Meet event for 2018!

Further to the success of our previous events, we have an incredible Jaguar exclusive event for you in May 2018!

This will be on Sunday 27th of May this year. We will be starting at
Pease Pottage Services with a slightly earlier start time than the last event of 8:30am, & we will have a larger more airy room set aside exclusively for us on the day. There will be the obligatory welcome speech running through the features of our day, and free Welcome Packs distributed to get you in the mood for the day, plus event registration :-).

We will then have a scenic convoy through gorgeous Sussex and Surrey countryside to our main venue, with a mixture of main & country roads to our main venue Denbies Wine Estate.

At Denbies we will have a new layout for our event with a central area reserved for presentations and displays during the day. We will have trade stands onsite with great show deals, and a vast pool of Jaguar knowledge for you to quiz. In addition we will have the 'Walk Through The Years Of Jaguar',
a huge prize draw, and not 4 or 5, but 6 awards to be won including the prestigious 'Best Turned Out Jag' award sponsored by Scratchshield to be passed from our 2017 winner to the new winner :-)

Add to this, superb company, over 60 years of Jaguar production spread across as many models as we can manage and you have our event :-) It is a great day out for everyone in itself but add to that what the largest wine estate in England has to offer (tours, tastings, great food, wine etc) and you have an incredible day out.

There will be free Welcome packs, samples, offers, discounts and all the usual things you would expect with a ticketed event, but this event is free! (except for a small charge for the main prize draw)

Please consider signing up, and penciling our event into your diary - the more people that sign up, the more we can organise with our event sponsors making this a win win situation for us :-) It is free to sign up for, and you are under no obligation so go on, just let us know your name/online alias, Jaguar model, year of production or reg, and how many people will likely be travelling in total and we'll do the rest :-) It is genuinely that easy to sign up for.

OK it is almost the weekend, and our event is this Sunday!!

If anyone is considering attending but has not signed up yet, please do so as soon as you can to guarantee a place. It's easy to do, just pop a post on a forum thread, tweet us at @JFBrightonMeets, pop a message up to us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK), message us on Instagram (JaguarForumsUK), or email us at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk with your name/alias, model and year of Jaguar, & how many people travelling and that's it - please note that our event is also free - except for any food/drink and entry to the prize draw at the end of the day :-)

Everything is ready for the day itself - the Welcome Packs are packed, the event specific information covering all you need to know is printed up, the dashboard sheets are ready, all the prizes for the prize draw (bar one which appears to be lost in the post on its way to us) are boxed and ready to travel, everyone running a trade stand and/or presentation on the day is up to date with everything, two awards are with me currently and the rest will be travelling to site with the sponsoring companies, Denbies are aware of rough numbers wanting breakfast, and most importantly last weekend I managed to get one coat of polish on my S-Type before the rain as I just know I will only have time to give her a quick wash the night before and that will be it :-)

The weather forecast is changing from day to day but I believe we have a hot day ahead of us with the chance of a brief thunderstorm/shower early or late in the day so please bring an umbrella with you just in case, but this year the event will be running the full day even if we do have a shower...

We have so much going on with the convoy, presentations, trade stands, awards and prizes for you and your Jaguar - a chance to pick up some bargains, learn the tricks of the trade from the pro's, meet some incredible Jaguars and their owners and even take a walk through the years of Jaguar.. I really hope you enjoy your day with us.

Here is the current weather forecast for our day - it looks like it will be damp early in the day but should then dry out for us :-)

Hi Steve, thanks for the updates...

This looks to be yet another amazing event you've put together, simply unbelievable what you've managed to achieve and what you have happening on the day.

Fantastic numbers too with a myriad of Jags down the years.

Kudos to you my friend, here's hoping everything goes well for you.

I look forward to reading about the day and seeing the pics.

All my best
Jim

Many thanks for that Jim I appreciate your kind comments.. our event is growing year on year - a bit like a Lego set.. just keep building :-)

This is likely my final post before the day itself.

The weather is the biggest possible bugbear, but according to Accuweather for the Dorking area there may be some rain 1am and then nothing until 1pm, clearing again for the afternoon - but despite two months of monitoring the weather forecast to plan ahead, it is currently changing by the hour sigh but so far it is looking manageable thank goodness.

We have had a few last minute cancellations but also people booking up by email and phone this evening so I am estimating around 85/86 Jaguars for tomorrow so we will have a fair sized event this year.

This evening Soraya from DesignCats is onsite sorting the layout for everyone and will be marshaling tomorrow.. massive massive thanks to Soraya for this.

Incidentally if on the day it does rain around lunchtime and you need to borrow an umbrella just ask me I will have a few with me.. just in case someone needs one.

Tomorrow I will be at Pease Pottage Services at 8am with my son, otherwise known as 'the boss' last year who wants to be known as 'apprentice' this year - we will both be in Scratchshield t-shirts so if you need help or info on the day we will be easy to spot. At Pease Pottage you need to register for the event and in exchange you will get your free Welcome Pack to get you started on the day, and I will tell you all about the day ahead so you know what to expect.

Denbies - our main venue is a grass venue so in view of the weather please take it very easy driving into place there - it is a well draining site but anything we can do to make it easier to exit at the end of the day will be great and help all of us.

Also at Denbies please follow Sorayas instructions as we are building the Walk Through The Years of Jaguar that everyone can enjoy for photos etc..

Denbie will be serving breakfast until 11am should you wish to get a breakfast there, and we will get a group shot at 11am, 15 minutes after the scheduled time to give you time to munch before the shoot. We have missed out on group shots for a couple of years now so this is mandatory (sorry :-)) and this will be with the backdrop of all our Jaguars which will look fantastic.

Through the day you have presentations, awards and of course the prize draw with some incredible prizes on offer from bespoke luggage to vouchers, meal for two, and leather and paint care products plus of course the incredible Scratchshield wash systems which we love.

Our event is completely and utterly free BUT you do need to pay for food/drink, and the prize draw has a small cost per ticket.

Finally this event is only open to people that have signed up - we have quite a tight limit on spaces this year so cannot accommodate too many more cars.. you can do so anytime up to 7am Sunday ideally by email to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk or via our event Facebook page, Instagram or Twitter accounts.

I very much look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.. those that are repeat attendees great to see you again, and those for whom this is your first time with us I hope you have a great day with us (whatever the weather may finally decide to do) and will want to come to our next event May 2019, which will be bigger than ever :-)

Happy fifth anniversary to everyone attendees and sponsors - you have made our event what it is - not just free but informative and a great Jaguar day out for all of us.

Just a very quick message to say a massive Thankyou to everyone, trade and attendees, who attended our event today, without you there would be no event and you all took a day out despite the weather forecasts to make our event which I really appreciate.

Our day went well, with glorious sunshine through the day, with myself and others burnt to a crisp.. I will be glowing tonight with my hue of red :-)

I have yet to organise my photos from the day, but as soon as they are sorted I will get them up for you. Could anyone who took photos on the day please email them across to me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk as it I would like (if you guys are OK with it) to get them all into our 2018 event photographs on Facebook, and use some if I may to help with promoting our 2019 event.

I will try to get a synopsis of our day up on Monday night, so please keep an eye out for it.

Thankyou once again to everybody, and please get any photos you are happy for us to keep on our facebook photo section, and to use for promotion, across to me..

I will be kicking off the 2019 thread very shortly and hope you guys will be happy to sign up and join us next May.. :-)

However the pics are going up now!! Please enjoy and email me any pics you may have that you are happy fot me to use.. especially of the award presentations, prize winners, and the group shots as I have none of them currently :-( Please enjoy the pics I have so far for you - and thankyou once again for making the day possible :-)

Ok I am just getting back up to speed and will be updating things as I go over the next few days - after all the time through the year organising our event it was decided I should have some family time this half term :-)

If anyone has any photos from the event they are happy to share could you please email them across to me.. I am especially missing photos of the group gathering at 11am and of the awards/prizes and am under some pressure to get a group shot to Grant for our event article.

Our fifth anniversary event was set to be our largest to-date, and with a new layout. The night before our event Soraya from DesignCats was onsite at Denbies organising the layout of our field, calling me to let me know that Denbies had a large marque on the left hand side of the field so we needed to move our event further to the right. Through Saturday we had a mixture of last minute signups, and cancellations due to the threat of bad weather.

On the day itself I was up at 6am getting the last things organised and packed - my wife did not think it would all fit in the S-Type but it did (just).. I made it to Pease Pottage Services for 8am and with some help from event attendees that had arrived early managed to get everything into our event registration room there. There was a number of items for the Welcome Packs that had turned up late and were added as we handed out the Welcome Packs to people signing up for the day.

The room was packed, but the numbers were definitely down this year with the weather putting people off joining us for the day.
Once everyone was settled with their discounted Costa coffees and their welcome packs we ran through the plans for the day which included a rolling start to the convoy (not needed in the end as the car boot sale that usually runs next door had been cancelled due to the weather), a new layout by year of Jaguar, additional awards, and a little about our event sponsors.
After the talk everyone headed off - noting that we had just one convoy route this year after the confusion last year with an advanced and standard route. Tony from Harwoods, and myself were at the tail end of the convoy, as I had to clear everything up at Pease Pottage prior to our leaving. The weather was holding, and the roads were clear giving us a good run to our main event venue at Denbies.

On arrival at Denbies everyone parked in roughly year order around three sides of a main presentation area, with trade stands by PVD Approved, Harwoods Jaguar, Bub Wedding Cars, Leather Repair Centre, Simply Performance, Julian Ferarro Jaguars, & DesignCats on the fourth side, nearest the Denbies buildings.

The sun had started to come out by now, and people took the opportunity to head into Denbies for a discounted breakfast deal.
Just after 11am everyone was assembled, trade and attendees, for a group shot - the first one in three years! I am desperate for anyones shots of this please (email any across to me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk) as Grant Ford, attending in his official role as journalist for CMM, needs this for our event article.

Through the day we had talks by Bert from PVD approved, and Michael & Richard from Robornes, teaching attendees the tricks of the trade, and how to look after your Jaguar. I had very positive feedback from a number of attendees who were already knowledgable that they had genuinely learnt new things from these very knowledgable guys - huge thank go out to them for this.
We moved onto the awards for a number of classes and had some surprise results with the individual Jaguars chosen showing that the mix of judges this year made quite a change to things. The most accoladed Jaguar there was the one E-Type that made it - we had anticipated three or four before the weather forecast hit, but it won both the Peoples Choice and the new Julian Ferarro E-Type award!!

Our prize draw had everything from a free meal out at the Kennels, Goodwood, to bespoke luggage, wine tasting experiences, wash sets, scale models, vouchers, and even t-shirts to name just a few - a massive thankyou goes out to our event sponsors for this. Please note I need any photos of the prize/award presentations too please..

Towards the end of the day we had some last minute arrivals, which was great to see, and hopefully they enjoyed the part of the day they managed to make it to.

We had in the region of 60 vehicles on the day itself spanning 1960's through to 2018 which was great, and I am sure if the weather forecast had been better we would have made around 110 on the day - but there is always next year :-)

My memory is not perfect - so please feel free to chip in with any details I have missed out.

Most importantly I am still collecting photos of our event - could you please email any pictures or videos that you are happy to share across to me as there is quite a bit of event coverage currently missing.

I hope everyone had a great time on the day, and don't forget to sign up for our next event coming up in 2019 which will be our eighth event to-date!

A huge thankyou to everyone involved in our day!!

Robornes LeatherCare & LeatherGuard systems on demonstration through the day

DesignCats - the big cat workshop here to meet attendees and marshalling at Denbies for us

Julian Ferarro - arrived late due to weather issues but incredible independant servicing/repairs

There was so much going on through the day

Our event stand with the awards and prizes on display for the day

Bert from PVD Approved - he talked about valeting/detailing and do's/donts - incredibly knowledgable.

This was Simply Performance showing some performance exhaust systems and meeting attendees

Just one example of the Jaguars attending our event spanning everything from daily drivers to racing Jaguars and 1960's to2018

Further to DesignCats previous Jaguar biting the dust, here is their gorgeous replacement

Simply Performance had quite a bit of interest and are very nice chaps too
