Default UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton

Yes I know this is an age off.. but I usually start things off quite a way in advance.. now I know winter is usually a dark grey sort of time of year with plenty of rain, wind, and bad weather leaving us little choice but to hunker down in front of a TV watching archived film clips of our favourite cars on TopGear..
In south east UK we don't do this - we organise our bi-annual Brighton convoy & meet!
It's a great chance for you to have a break from the Christmas rush and shopping and to have some time with great company, fantastic cars, a mug of tea and something to eat..
Depending on how many people are interested I will try to get something more organised if I can..

In case you are wondering - this will be the third Bi-Annual Brighton meet and the details of the last one can be found here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...ighton-107585/ if you want to check it out..

Just so you know who has indicated an interest (in no particular order) in attending on the day, so far it looks like this....

If you would like to be added please just make a post saying so (or if non member email me to be added) and I will be happy to add you to the list.

Listed below are Car details plus occupants (inc driver) where we have the info.

Current List:

SteveSheldon (me:-)) 2002 X-Type 2.5 (classic) manual + 1
Ngarara 2010 XKR 75 + 1

Total - 2 cars + 2 attendees.

As for the convoy from Crawley down the A23 to the venue we have:

SteveSheldon
Ngarara

Crawley - Brighton Convoy Total - 2 Cars

Thankyou for that Ngarara - I wasn't 100% sure on taking it on *but* Jim persuaded me lol. I am hoping to be able to use the position to gain that little more leverage in getting us some good Brighton meet events :-) I have touched base with Tony from Harwoods Brighton btw just to size up his interest in participating in December and have reminded him that I am starting to plan the next Spring/Summer meet in a few months :-) I will obviously update things as I go as usual :-) ...

Hi All,
I am in the middle of moving house so will not be particularily active on here whilst it is in progress but will try to keep up to a degree with my mobile app.. the good news is that I am moving from a house with no road to one on a road :-) which will make cleaning and maintaining my baby Jag a whole lot easier..
All the best
Steve

I have officially moved house, my baby Jag has had quite a hammering helping with the move and needs quite a bit of cleaning, scratch removal etc etc but performed faultlessly (and its amazing how much you can cram into an X-Type saloon when moving :-) I am still surrounded by boxes and bags in the new house, but am slowly getting back to having some time for here, and you guys.. :-) Apologies for the lack of attention whilst I have been moving ..

I know we are in a heatwave currently - but now is the time to book yourself a bright day (bright day -brighton - get it? Ok, maybe not so good :-)) with great company, fantastic cars, and anything I can get organised for us to brighten (see, all in the same vein :-)) winter for us, and give us a break from depending on TopGear reruns..

If you dont yet have anything concrete set for December yet, why not put your name down for a great day out by the seaside - I promise no need for ice creams - but can offer mugs of hot tea, a big breakfast, and great conversation..

It costs nothing to put your name down, nothing to attend and you'll have a great time with likeminded people.. so why not? You know your car wants you to.. well, except mine that's not quite itself yet after my house move :-)

Just to let you know I haven't heard from Jaguar as of yet - but no problems as plenty of time yet and I'm not holding my breath :-) I thought the same about dealership involvement but it came up trumps in the end, and no doubt it will with Jaguar.

I am currently primarily looking to see who would like to come along to our third Bi-Annual Brighton meet - it costs nothing to sign up, you don't have to be 100% commited, the event costs nothing but parking and a fixed price meal and drink, you're guaranteed a Christmas shopping free day in December, great company, conversation, and of course a chance to check out lots of our favourite cars.

Additionally this meet, whilst it is still remaining (and always will be :-)) a primarily Jaguar meet, I am also inviting some other marques along to join us this time, as at each meet so far there has been at least one car non Jaguar that has come along.. and it generates a great opportunity for cross marque discussion :-)

Soooo... if you are possibly free in December for a TopGear sort of day and want a break from the Christmas rush - please pop a post up here or email me directly (my email is somewhere further up the thread) and lets make this a great day..

If you are reading this thread and are undecided as to if you should put your name forward or not please do.. the more people we have onboard the more I can hopefully swing things for us..
Yes it seems a long way off to some, but as the weeks go by it will come quicker than we think :-)
If you put your name forward it costs you nothing *and* you are not committed to come, you are just saying that you would like to attend.
It's a great day with the classic backdrop of the Brighton Promenades to contrast our cars!
Food and drink will be a fixed price deal that I will organise for just us for the day
Parking costs will be listed online before the day so you know exactly what you are going to be spending on the day!
There are no other costs to this - it's a free event by us, for us! :-)
The day will start at Pease Pottage services, with a cruise down the A23 to make an impact as we all go through Brighton and park up at Madiera Drive.. followed by a meal and mugs of tea, and then over to the cars..
So if you are undecided - why not just put your name forward? You will be guaranteed a great day in December!

I am interested. I am a new Jag owner and member. Not sure what happens at these meets, but having now owned a Jag for 3 days and 10 hours now, if it entails looking at other Jags and getting tips on how to look after my little Monster then I would love to come along. The convoy from Pease Pottage sounds like great fun. I have a 2002 X Type, 2.0, Auto, Petrol. My avatar is another of it but for some reason has been turned around.

Hi MrMichael.. welcome to the world of Jaguar :-) The bi-annual Brighton meet is a great social event - a chance to meet other Jaguar owners from around the south-east and put faces to names, cars, and usernames online :-) There will always be someone around who knows something about any Jaguar related problem you may have, or has a tip or two to pass on. I will add you into the list of interested people - please keep an eye on the thread here as we go, as I will update everyone with things as I go.. the main thing I am working on at the moment is trying to get Jaguar UK involved in the Brighton meets.. so watch this space :-)
Any queries or problems with your car please check out the x-type section on here.. we are a friendly bunch so anything you are unsure of just ask OK? Equally you are always welcome to drop me a line here or via email at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk

Just to update you I am currently waiting on feedback from JLR global sponsorship & partnership manager.. I have been in touch a couple of times now :-) and am hoping I can obtain some positive feedback from him regarding the Brighton meets.. I can but hope and keep in contact with him :-)
Meanwhile though - it's still a while off but time is moving fast... We may be in a heatwave now, but in a few months we will all be reduced to dark nights, damp, cold weather and the usual winter doldrums.. what we need is something to look forward to, something that gives us a break from Christmas shopping, the weather and TopGear reruns.. why not sign yourself up for Decembers Bi-Annual Brighton Meet, and guarantee yourself a well earned break from all of it.. a bit like booking a holiday in the sun for winter knowing you have it to look forward to.. except this is for a convoy, and meet of Jaguar, and other supercar owners, mugs of tea, a big breakfast, plenty of cars to look around and listen to, great conversation, and of course fresh sea air to clear out those cobwebs. Go on, you know your car wants you to! If you might be free in December for one Sunday why not treat yourself and your car to a day out with great company.. pop a post up here to join, or drop me an email at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk ...
