A Big thank you to Steve S for today.
As a virgin to the forum meets, it was nice to put faces to names that have helped me and so many others out of trouble.

Mind you, seeing the STR with NOS, that just put unpure thoughts in my head.

So many cool cars, so many cool people .

A members comments and video links below....

Left the dashcams on while parked and they started to overwrite, so video one is part of the convoy, first couple of minutes until I am behind the black S Type then it is simply me following. Videos two and three are me walking along the seafront to get all the parked Jaguars in.

Good morning everyone - I will be putting a synopsis up later today after a strong coffee and getting some *actual* work out of the way here :-) I had a great time meeting up with everyone that has been to our previous bi-annual meets, and quite a few new faces.. thankyou very much for coming along despite the temperature not being quite as warm as I would like :-) I promise the May meet will be warmer (and hopefully at least as dry) :-)

Nice to meet you all. The convoy was a good drive down. Shame we missed the photo-shoot. Look forward to the next one.

Steve, the banner is filling up / has filled up nicely, too nicely....lol

We really are going to have to start limiting the size of signatures on that thing, or have smaller meets

I passed the photo's that I took, across to Tony at Harwood Jaguar Brighton, and in exchange he has been kind enough to send over the pictures he managed to take on the day - much better than my pictures :-)

So thankyou to Tony for that, and please enjoy having a look through them. I didn't manage to get any shots at the start of the convoy but Tony has which is fantastic..

The day started with me being on time for this meet - no broken windows at home this time! :-)

I arrived at Pease Pottage Services at ten past eight with the roads slightly damp on top of a cold frost but the weather dry, but still quite cold.

As I pulled into the services I saw Jaguars and other super clean cars everywhere obviously there for the meet, and a large group of people all dressed warmly, collected in amongst all the cars. Tony and a colleague were also there with their showroom cars.

I parked up and got out the big boxes containing a range of superb product samples from MotorGeek, and Car Chem, along with posters and parts catalogues from SNG Barratt UK, plus brochures with the latest deals available from Harwoods Jaguar.

It was great to see some faces I remembered, along with a host of new faces coming along to the event. The boxes, which weren't sufficient to supply everyone (yes I miscalculated the amount of interest in a winter meet :-( ) emptied rapidly, with some info packs that I had assembled in addition to the welcome packs filling in the void.

A couple of times I thought we were all assembled, only to find another couple of cars making it into the car park :-)

We left Pease Pottage Services at, it must have been about, 8:40am streaming out of the services and onto the A23 heading south down to Brighton. We kept the speed to between 55 and 65 to allow late leavers to catch up and keep things nice and easy down to the seafront.

There were a few stops and starts through Brighton itself down to the seafront due to the traffic light sequences but made it down to Madiera Drive more or less intact. We parked up just past the Madiera Cafe, rapidly running out of spaces and expanding to a second block of cars further along the seafront. I set up the banner across the windscreen of my car for viewing and to advertise where we were parked up for anyone else coming along.

After getting parked up we headed for the Madiera cafe and the £5 breakfast deal - not too sure what everyone else got but I got two eggs, two rashers of bacon, two sausages, baked beans, and toast plus a mug of tea, which went down well. We met up with Kevin from the Automatic Gearbox Centre there too, with people asking him about transmission issues.

Gary from the Jag Art Gallery joined us also, a chance to enjoy the namesake of his gallery in steel, aluminium and carbon fibre :-)

Some of the attendees found their way to a Harvester instead of the Madiera Cafe and reports came back that they managed to get a better deal there - so maybe at the next meet I will switch location - time yet for that...

After that we had the social elements of looking over everyone else's cars, signing the banner (also seeing how many others had been to the Brighton meets) and finally a photo shoot outside the Jag Art Gallery.

The weather held out with just a short shower at the very end of the day..

And that is about it.. anything I have missed please feel to post it up :-)

Now *that* is a good idea... a lorry to advertise the meet with a huge logo, *and* loads of space for the next 80 sigs I am hoping for at the next meet :-)

Now please don't get me wrong here, but we have all been singing the praises of SteveSheldon, and rightly so...

But , nobody has said THANK YOU to MRS SteveSheldon,( or the Sheldonettes ) and I do think they deserve at least three hip hip hoorays .

As do the sponsors of the meeting.

HAPPY XMAS all of you.

Andy

OK.... a little bit of an update we are already looking at double figures for people signed up for the next bi-annual meet ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...ighton-131529/ ) and shortly I will be sending off the pics from the event, along with our comments regarding the Welcome Pack contents, to our event sponsors.

It would be very helpful if you could pm me your comments on the product samples so I have something to feed back to them whilst asking them if I can interest them in supporting our spring/summer event.

Meanwhile though please have a great Christmas and Happy New Year

If anyone still has their pictures or videos from this event, and you would be happy for them to be hosted on our facebook page ( www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK ) please, please drop me a line as I would love to get them online for everyone to see :-)
