UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton
#241
If you are still undecided whether to come, or have already signed up by posting on here or emailing me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk here are the very latest stats on our favourite bi-annual event.. JUST 3 DAYS TO GO!
We have Welcome Packs for the first time.. with many thanks to our new event sponsors!
We have Harwoods Jaguar Brighton in attendance with hopefully either two showroom F-Type Coupes, or one showroom F-Type and a showroom XK Dynamic to look over
We have Tony from Harwoods Jaguar Brighton and Kevin from The Automatic Gearbox Centre to answer any sales, or transmission enquiries you have.
We have 57 cars signed up so far for the Pease Pottage to Brighton Convoy to make a huge entrance in Brighton at the start of the main meet.
We have 61 cars signed up for the main meet itself so far!
We have booked the Madeira Cafe for £5 fixed price breakfast & tea/coffee.
The parking is just £1 an hour on Madeira Drive for this meet.
You get to see Jaguars right from a 1968 Mk2 through to the very latest 2014 models
You also get to see TVR Tuscans, a Noble, BMW, possibly a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Morgan 3 wheeler, a Mclaren MP4 and more...
Gary, owner of The Jag Gallery has kindly suggested photo shoots with his gallery as a backdrop for anyone who would like that...
And finally and most importantly you get to meet the people you meet on the forums in real life, to see their cars, talk and get to know everyone better! It is a great social event easing the Christmas rush for us and giving us a break as only a JaguarForums.com 'Convoy and Meet' can!
If you look further up the thread you will find the itinerary and loads of info on the event.. so go on, even if you are unsure I am sure your car would love the event.. why not pop a post on this thread or just email me and put your name forward?
Additionally, as promised, I am working on the next Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet, and am currently starting to take bookings here: UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2015 in Brighton so if you can't make this one don't worry you can now put your name forward for the next one and still guarantee yourself a good Jaguar day out:-) Equally if you attend our bi-annual meets regularly you may want to get signed up now for the next one :-)

OK we have hit the magic 60 vehicles! I am in and out of meetings at work over the next few days so I'm going to try to list all the info you need in this post..
The days itinerary is listed below for your info, so you know when you need to be where for this event...
The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £2 for two hours, £4 for four hours, or £7 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £4 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be £5.00 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget
Possibly the best area to park at Pease Pottage Services is to the left as you go in, as from memory the HGVs park to the right.
At Pease Pottage Services the Welcome Packs will be distributed one per car and on a first come, first served basis as I didn't anticipate quite as much interest as we have had in this meet - I *will* do better for the next meet in May :-)
Additionally at Pease Pottage we will need to do a very quick photo shoot with the Welcome Packs for our sponsors.
The cruise to Brighton is set at 65mph to ensure all our vehicles make it without any problems considering that we have vehicles from 1968 right through to 2014.
We need to park up on Madiera Drive in one block if at all possible somewhere between The Jag Art Gallery and the Madeira Cafe.
The Madiera cafe may well struggle with our numbers on the day so I may have to negotiate the same breakfast deal with another cafe next door and spread the load.
Tony will be there to answer any Jaguar sales related questions, and will hopefully have two showroom cars for us to have a look at and Kevin will be there from the Automatic Gearbox Centre to answer any transmission queries..
We will all be signing the meet banner and having group shots taken for the forums at 11:30..
On the day you will need to track me down for the Welcome Packs etc .. My car is a dark blue X-Type 2.5 RN02CVS, and my phone number should you need to get hold of me on the day is 07914 116375. I will also be trying to monitor emails etc as I go.. JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk or stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk
The days itinerary is listed below for your info, so you know when you need to be where for this event...
08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23.
08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out.
08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph)
09:15 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive.
09:30-10:30 Big Breakfast in Madiera Cafe (b/fast + tea/coffee for £5 only)
10:30 General social events etc. start
11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums

Only a couple of days to go now.. If you would like to attend there is still time to sign up for this great event with 80 people coming so far!
If you can't make this event why not sign up now for our spring/summer bi-annual convoy and meet instead? Just put your name forward on the now active thread for it.

So far the weather for Saturday is saying its going to be a sultry 6 degrees - wet and windy initially but clearing up.. I seem to remember last winter meet it was the same scenario with the weather clearing as we arrived in Brighton

OK - today is the last day I'll be officially posting on here before the meet. Anyone wanting to be added to the list between now and the day, please post on here but also email me, to let me know, at the usual address of JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk as I will stand a better chance of picking up an email.
Anyone not yet signed up there is still time to do so, and you will be very welcome to come along.
The weather looks to be the same as we had at the last winter meet - wet and windy first thing, but easing through the morning.. so hopefully it will be dry on arrival in Brighton.
We currently have a host of things going on.. from goody bags to start the event, a convoy down the A23 to the main meet site, Harwoods Jaguar - Brighton & The Automatic Gearbox Centre attending to answer your questions, a fixed price breakfast with tea/coffee, lots of cars to look over including, with this meet, a 3 wheeler Morgan, TVR Tuscans, a Noble, a Mclaren and more!! Also we have two photoshoots - one at the start of the convoy for our sponsors and another against the backdrop of The Jag Art Gallery for the forums.. *plus* getting our names onto the official forum banner used at all our Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meets for prosperity!
It's going to be a great day and that's not all - I am already working on the spring/summer event - warmer weather, same great backdrop, and even more packed into the day - if you enjoy our December meet why not sign up for the next one now and guarantee yourself a great Jaguar day out!
All the info you need for this December meet is in the thread above this - and if you want the *full* thread then please go to https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...ighton-119699/ where you will find the master thread..
I look forward to seeing you all on the day,,,

Almost everything is loaded and first of two washes done. Hopefully can do one more wash and hopefully a wax before the end of the day and my x-type classic won't look so much like the daily commuter it has become :-) Looking forward to meeting everyone in the morning and hoping for a great day for everyone.
