Welcome to our JaguarForums Annual Convoy & Meet event for 2018!

Further to the success of our previous events, we have an incredible Jaguar exclusive event for you in May 2018!

This will be on Sunday 27th of May this year. We will be starting at
Pease Pottage Services with a slightly earlier start time than the last event, & we will have a larger more airy room set aside exclusively for us on the day. There will be the obligatory welcome speech running through the features of our day, and free Welcome Packs distributed to get you in the mood for the day, plus event registration :-).

We will then have a scenic convoy through gorgeous Sussex and Surrey countryside to our main venue, with a mixture of main & country roads to our main venue Denbies Wine Estate.

At Denbies we will have a new layout for our event with a central area reserved for presentations and displays during the day. We will have trade stands onsite with great show deals, and a vast pool of Jaguar knowledge for you to quiz. In addition we will have a huge prize draw, and a number of awards to be made including the prestigious 'Best Turned Out Jag' award sponsored by Scratchshield to be passed from our 2017 winner to the new winner :-)

Add to this, superb company, over 60 years of Jaguar production spread across as many models as we can manage and you have our event :-) It is a great day out for everyone in itself but add to that what the largest wine estate in England has to offer (tours, tastings, great food, wine etc) and you have an incredible day out.

There will be free Welcome packs, samples, offers, discounts and all the usual things you would expect with a ticketed event, but this event is free! (except for a small charge for the main prize draw)

Please consider signing up, and penciling our event into your diary - the more people that sign up, the more we can organise with our event sponsors making this a win win situation for us :-) It is free to sign up for, and you are under no obligation so go on, just let us know your name/online alias, Jaguar model, year of production or reg, and how many people will likely be travelling in total and we'll do the rest :-) It is genuinely that easy to sign up for.

Currently I can confirm the following:

Just a quick update on things - the 'Scratchshield Best Turned Out Jag' shield should be back from being re-engraved today, and I finally bit the bullet and accepted that the convoy route had changed from the currently printed route, to include the rolling start to the convoy element, so I have just reprinted the route sheets and hand annoted each one (and there is quite a few I now realise lol) with additional details the AA route map could not include. After this years event I will produce a custom sheet with the route that I can use from year to year rather than annoting maps from another source :-)

Meanwhile our event is doing well - we have had a few people with last minute commitments drop out, but with new signups our numbers continue to increase which is great news with just a few weeks to go, our forum threads have been very active this week, and our Facebook and Twitter followings have increased yet further :-)

If you have not signed up yet, please consider doing so :-)

Hi, sorry for the very delayed reply and thank you for clarifying the details. I would like to attend, may car is 2005 XJR, there will be two of us, but because of other commitments ongoing, my girlfriend may need to follow in her own (non-Jaguar) car (unless her XE is delivered before the date) - hope that will be okay. Cheers Chris.

Hi Chris, I will get you both signed up now - if your girlfriend has not got her XE through in time, could she park in the main car park at Denbies as I am nopt too sure yet about parking arrangements in our allocated area for non Jaguars visiting.. it is something I should have a handle on though for next year - equally if she does get her XE in time if you could let me know and I will add her Jaguar to our numbers for the day. I look forward to meeting you both on ther day and hope you have a good Jaguauar day with us :-) Very best regards, Steve

JUST 33 DAYS UNTIL OUR EVENT NOW!!

I am still chasing the last few sponsors for promised literature, prizes, awards etc.

After the reprint of the convoy route, all the event paperwork is sorted and ready.

I need to have a final talk with sponsors who will be directly involved with us on the day, have trade stands on the day, or presentation slots.

This weekend I will hopefully have the parts I need, through from SNG Barratt, and I can get my S-Type back on the road for the event, which means I am now aiming to assemble the Welcome Packs for everyone the following weekend subject to the last items making it through by then.

The long range weather forecast is changing as the day approaches with currently 20 degrees, overcast and a chance of a shower on the day - I will continue to monitor this as we go.

The number of Jaguars, and attendees has been steadily growing too and starting to close on the number of Welcome Packs etc that we will have this year - so if you have yet to sign up for our Jaguar event in just 33 days time please sign up sooner rather than later as we are approaching the numbers limit that we have for this year.

I have just been notified that there has been an issue with our accomodation supplier and attendees have been unable to book using our agreed discounted rate. I have spoken to them this morning and our room allocation has been reassigned to us with apologies for any problems caused. So if you have been trying to book or need to book, you can now do so - I apologise for any problems you may have had.

Just 31 days to go now!!

I have been keeping an eye on the long range weather forecast and the weather for our event is becoming cooler at 20 degrees, but there is no risk of rain currently :-) If things remain that way it will be ideal for our Jaguar day.

The last emails have gone out to sponsors asking them to ensure I have everything by next weekend, if at all possible, so I can assemble the Welcome Packs.

We had a 'glitch' with our event accomodation bookings - Holiday Inn, our provider, accidentally reclaimed rooms reserved for our attendees, into their general room stock - I only found out after one attendee had spent two days trying to book their room :-( I have spoken to Holiday Inn and have been assured all is now back as it should be for us. Please, please let me know asap if you have any issues with booking accomodation. I can only apologise for any attendees that have had problems booking event accomodation.

Everything else is pretty much on schedule and as expected - I will be in touch with everyone running trade stands, presentations, or supplying services on the day just after I have assembled the Welcome Packs..

Meanwhile, I have the parts through to get my S-Type back on the road - and I should be fitting them this weekend, or next, depending on weather, so I should be on the road for the event myself (which helps) :-)

We do still have some availability of spaces for our event so if you haven't signed up yet, please do so whilst you can - we have a fantastic day for you with a convoy, and main meet plus awards, prizes, talks by the pro's, PLUS great company, incredible Jaguars, trade stands, fantastic food/drink, and venue AND it's a FREE Jaguar day out suitable for not just your Jaguar, but you and your family - the only costs on the day will be any food/drink and entry into the Prize draw for some incredible Jaguar orientated prizes :-)

OK it's this month!! Time to update you with where we are with things..

I am still waiting on the last few sponsors to get everything through to me for our event. I was hoping to be able to assemble the Welcome Packs this weekend, but may now have to hold off another week on this. I will be gently chasing the sponsors tomorrow.

The medium range weather forecast (yes we have now moved beyond the long range forecasts :-)) is for a cool day with some cloud but still avoiding any rain - which is close to ideal for us.

Everyone running trade stands, and hosting Presentation slots have confirmed things. Denbies have agreed we can have a discount on food/drink but I need to chase them on this as they have yet to confirm the amount and how we claim it on the day.

Everything is more or less on schedule currently :-)

Your dashboard sheets were printed up prior to the decision to set up a walk through Jaguar years - so at the start point of the event you will need to sharpie your Jaguars' year onto the dashboard sheet and make sure it is visible when pulling in at Denbies so the marshalls can route you correctly.

The NextBase Peoples Choice Award has been taken on by Mark Lambourne as this was a popular award and has been aptly renamed as the 'Mark Lambournes' Peoples Choice Trophy' - please, please make sure you vote for your choice of Jaguar - noting you cannot vote for your own Jaguar :-) and encourage Mark to continue sponsoring this popular award. There will be a voting form on my stand on the day plus a supply of pens if needed so you can do this.

We have a brand new E-Type specific award sponsored by Julian Ferraro - Jaguar specialist - this really is an award to watch as this is going to be a very difficult one to judge.

Our Presentation Slots are new to us this year and give you the chance to learn about detailing, leather repair, the latest Jaguars to hit the showrooms and how to protect your Jaguar leather. Features you won't want to miss.

In previous years we have had some issues with the start of the convoy element - thie year we are setting up a rolling start to the convoy to ensure we make a visual impact enroute and get to see more of one another on the way to Denbies.

As always this event has been a year in the planning (yes, honestly this is an all year thing and has been for a few years now) so I am hoping everything comes together as it should on the day and everyone has a great time - if anyone has any issues on the day you know where to find me :-)

Our sponsors have catered (in items not food :-)) for up to 100 vehicles this year so slots are limited, and we are already down to the last 25 places - so if you have not signed up yet please do so before all the spaces have been taken.

Our forum threads have received over 30,000 hits now.
Our Twitter feed has 538 followers
Our Instagram feed has 69 followers
Our Facebook page has 247 friends
We have 75 Jaguars spanning 53 years of production signed up.
Along with 136 attendees coming along.
We have 7 or 8 Trade stands
& 4 Presentation slots

I would at this point comment .. and a partridge in a pear tree :-)

But in all honesty I believe we have a great day ahead of us - great company, incredible Jaguars spanning many years of production and set out so you can walk through the years.. we have two great venues, gorgeous contryside between the two, and on arrival at Denbies everything our event has to offer :-) Add to this our awards, prizes, trade stands, fantastic food and drink, and a packed day anf you have it all.

If you haven't signed up yet our event is easy to sign up for and free in every way (except for food/drink and prize draw entry) so why not give us a try before we are even bigger next year :-)

Welcome to our JaguarForums Annual Convoy & Meet event for 2018!

Further to the success of our previous events, we have an incredible Jaguar exclusive event for you in May 2018!

This will be on Sunday 27th of May this year. We will be starting at
Pease Pottage Services with a slightly earlier start time than the last event of 8:30am, & we will have a larger more airy room set aside exclusively for us on the day.

OK guys just over two weeks until our event and there is still a lot going on. Two sponsors still have yet to get their Welcome Pack items across to me, and Denbies have only just posted our discount vouchers off as of yesterday. One of our sponsors is considering getting involved with our event to a larger degree and the owner of the company concerned is coming along on the day to meet us. We will also have press coverage for the first time ever courtesy of Grant Ford, writing for Classic Motor Monthly.

It looks like I will be asembling the Welcome Packs quite close to the wire (as usual despite my efforts lol) not this weekend, but next. I still need to chase up some sponsors who will be bringing their prize donations and awards with them to ensure they are doing this.. some have supplied prizes, awards in advance and they are already with me which is great.

I also need to make contact with everyone running a trade stand to ensure everyone knows who is doing what, where, and when, and I need to touch base with Soraya from DesignCats regarding marshalling and where everyone needs to be organised to be.

A massive thankyou goes out to everyone - attendees, trade, venue and more.. without you guys we genuinely could not manage what we are doing, giving everyone a great Jaguar day out :-)

With just two weeks to go here are the details of where we are so far:

We are down to limited places - anyone wanting to attend please sign up promptly to guarantee your free slot.
