I have a 2003 XKR with a convertible top pump and hydraulic line issue that I need help fixing. Can someone refer me to a solid mechanic in Raleigh, NC who can help me?

 

I just bought this car and was told the pump and lines where just fixed a couple of months ago. The garage I brougth the convertible top problem to said pump and hoses are bad. Need reliable mechanic help to check and fix reasonable. Thanks

 

what are your symptoms???

Have you verified that the valve on the side of the pump is shut (clockwise) - if open, then no pressure through pump.

Are you getting any other spurious indications - which could be indicative of a weak battery?

Let's try and rule out the simple stuff first

 

The shop say's there is a leak and the pump and hose needs replacement. They just replaced the motor and security module. Now top works but they say it is leaking. The guy I bought it from says the pump, hose and hydraulic fluid were just fixed 3 months ago.

Need to find a reputable cost effective mechanic to bring this to so it can be fixed. The price I got from the current shop is $2,100.00 for repair. Should be half of that, I think, based on previous repair. I've already spent $2,500 on other top repairs.
