I want to do all three of those routes ha ha. I miss living in NC, Florida roads are so boring.

for those of us that are allergic to flashing lights, some of the roads in the Cherokee area of northern SC / GA have pretty sparse enforcement, and wonderfully squeally corners. Cant go wrong in those foothills for a weekend of smiles per mile.

Trip yesterday up the Blue Ridge between Sylva and Wayneville. Sun out then temp dropped up top to 63 degrees followed by rain, so top had to come up for a little while.

On someone's recommendation we took 215 from the Parkway toward Cashiers. Nice ride, good pavement and not much traffic.

Thanks for the idea.

Perchance me.

On 215, don't be surprised to see a few 3 series BMWs or teen Mustang drivers. Try it in mid October on a weekday. If'n you're near Sylva: > US 23/74 > Parkway at Balsam Gap toward Asheville > south on NC 215 to Rosman > US 64 West to Cashiers > NC 107 to Sylva (Alternatively NC ?281? through Little Canada to Tuckaseegee and up NC 107, but the asphalt can be rough). (Apologies if I'm describing an area of which you may already be more intimate than I, or me.) Have you ever driven: Parkway at approximately mile 407, just north of the Pisgah Inn, down NC 151 to the valley and turn-around & back up to the Parkway? Narrow, curvy "C?" pavement but worth doing once if the weather's good. Should you espy a Nights In Rodanthe Grey XK on the Parkway in the next 6 weeks, there's a good chance it's moi. Wave.

The October 2014 issue of Road & Track features an article titled The Dragon King about the tail. The Dragon King - Road & Track.

(Regarding the previously mentioned NC 151 road from the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker appx. 405) down to the valley below. I drove it 10Sep2014. The length one way is 4.1 miles. Counted 90 turns one way. Narrow road constantly twisting - narrower than Tail Of Dragon. Heavy tree canopy. Road surface slightly better than remembered. No side roads until near bottom. Almost all decline down, therefore all incline on return upward. Second gear in XK each way, or just leave it in Sport.)
