2013 Fair Lakes, VA C & C (Kohl's) Thread
Some would even suggest that part be done FIRST .....
Sorry, Alan - the one Sunday the Jag gathering WON'T happen is the 29th of September. I have multiple commitments (no, I'm not also a serial-groom) that weekend, and I've been told I must not miss the mother-in-law's 80th birthday...
I hope to announce a date for the event soon...

Ahahaha!
My dad just turned 80 and I'm 26. Crazy, huh?
Just to let folks know the Shenandoah Valley British Car Club show is Oct. 5. details below. Usually a pretty good Jag turnout.
COME TO THE ANNUAL BRITISH CAR SHOW
RIDGEVIEW PARK, WAYNESBORO
OCTOBER 5, 2013, 9:00 – 2:00
AND, OF COURSE IF YOU OWN A BRITISH CAR, BRING HER ALONG
SEE SVBCC.NET FOR PICTURES FROM PAST SHOWS AND FOR DETAILS
A nice morning. I drove my Lotus. Forum member Bobert brought his Corvette Gran Sport, but was convinced to go get his XKR convertible when Chuck S arrived with his XKE.

Thanks to both Chuck and Bobert for making this photo op happen!
It would be interesting to see a lineup of XKs from the XK120 to the Series I E-Type to the XJS to the modern XK.
What's interesting to me about the modern XKs is that they seem almost as low as the original ones.
Take a look at these two models on my desk:

If you liked two Jaguars next to each other, wait 'til you see many, many more:

Good weather this morning resulted in a huge crowd, with lots of cars - including two XK convertibles (I somehow missed getting a picture of the black one), and Bob W's Lister Jaguar replica.

A good day this holiday weekend, so we had a lot of people in attendance.
Bob Williams had the only Jaguar there, though.

P.S.: Do not forget - We are holding a special Jaguar event at this location, on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 8:00Am to 10:00AM. Don't miss it!

Having the Lotus meet-up at the C & C yesterday was really cool! It was great to see so many Lotuses (Loti???) in one spot. This event is really growing. The lot is usually almost full every Sunday and occasionally overflows into the adjacent lot! It is a very friendly and social crowd. If you have not checked out this low key local venue, you should - you will not be disappointed!
Here are a few shots of the meet from Sunday.

...and, let's not forget, the next two weeks are very busy for local Jaguar owners.
Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013: National Capital Jaguar Owners Club (NCJOC) concours.
Reston Town Center - opening ceremony is 10AM, awards & closing are at 2:30PM. Lots of beautiful Jaguars on display.
Sunday, Sept 22, 2013: A Pride of Jaguars, right here at East Market at Fair Lakes. 8:00AM - 10:00AM, with optional brunch nearby to follow. Like the Lotus event we just held, this is a one-marque event that runs alongside the 'normal' Fair Lakes Cars & Coffee. Drive your Jaguar out, meet other Jaguar enthusiasts! More details at this link -

I already have 22 Jaguars scheduled to be at this event; we have a lot more space available... you should definitely be there!
Here's a shot of several of the Jaguars that showed up for the last APOJ event:

Crazy British cars - every once in a while we get some great British cars that may make some of you cringe but I just love! Bob C. had a pic of one of those from two weeks ago. However, he didn't show you the best part.
What looks like a Triumph GT6 with some body mods is a whole lot more.....
Check out what resides under that hood (yes, that's a big block American V8)....Very cool car....sounded awesome...must be insane to drive!

We held a Jaguar event, alongside the normal weekly Fair Lakes Cars & Coffee this week, so I had no time for pictures of the general meet cars...
