Hi, Bill. I'm located in Charlottesville; have an '02 XJR 100 (first Jaguar). Good to know about this forum. Wish I were closer to expert advice as I posted a concern about the engine light staying on recently after changing low beam H7 headlamps.
If you know of meetings in the area I would be interested.
Thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter,
Welcome to the forum!
I see that you have been advised to sign-in at the new member forum. Please do.
So, you need to read OBD codes: my favorite inexpensive reader is Torque or TorquePro.
Google it.
I'd also suggest that you visit Gus Glikas' JagRepair.com.
Gus is one of the best sources of information found when I was starting with X-Types (X400).
I am not aware of an active central Virginia Jaguar community (in person) at this time but always happy to meet other enthusiasts for coffee and share experience.
Consider posting photos of your Jaguar, add to your signature or post your info on the intro forum.

best regards,
Bill

While not Jaguar focused, there is a great British car club based in Waynesboro -- SVBCC.org or net or something. Look up Shenandoah Valley British Car Club. Annual show is Oct. 1 and they have perhaps 10 driving events a year. Many older Jag owners there such as myself -- I'm both old and have an '03 VDP.

Hello Tresa03,
With the exception of wheel alignment, balancing and state inspections, I do my own Jaguar work. I don't know who to recommend.
Consider adding your vehicle information to your signature. Makes discussions/help easier. What model? Engine? Super charged?

Fuel in the exhaust is often a defective fuel delivery device (fuel injector?) Raw fuel in the exhaust will cause multiple, serious issues very quickly. Stop running it.
Consider Richmond Jaguar on Midlothian. Not going to be the cheapest but should be competent. Extended run time with inexperienced mechanics will likely cause additional damage, costing more in the long run. Call ahead for an appointment and plan to leave it to minimize run time.

Let us know how it works out.

Bill

Hi Bill
I have a 2013 XJL supercharger. So initially I took my car to a mechanic in Midlothian who did/was to replace all my coil packs for tune up . When my car was picked up it lost power while driving. The mechanic came and picked up my car to take it back to his shop to figure out why. He said he replaced a fuel sensor rail and was trouble shooting however unable to get my car to run and towed it to Jaguar Richmond where it is now. Jaguar Richmond informed me the mechanic only replaced one coil pack and that there is raw fuel dumping in the exhaust. They are recommending replacing the other coil packs as well as other work due to raw fuel dumping which is gonna be costly. The other mechanic shop gave me my money back after confronting him about only replacing one coil pack. My choice in taking my Jaguar to him has become a nightmare where at this point I’m thinking of taking him to court or getting rid of it. If you have any other advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Teresa
