Status update
I blame winter and work! Finally got the quarters and trunk cut off. Here's some pics. Cut the passenger side quarter with a grinder/cutoff wheel and the driver's side with a sawzall (didn't want to use a grinder on the drivers side due to the fuel vent line being right below the quarter skin.

More pics..
I found some deals on wheels. Heaven forbid I go out and buy some original Aston wheels and curb check them! I was tempted though; they look nice! You can see the wheel boxes off to the left, XXR brand 527 style... Cheap! ($650 shipped!) basically 18x10 & 18x9 rims. Craigslist Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar takeoffs from a Shelby GT 500 (500 miles on them). 285/40r18 & 245/45r18.. ($400!) I won't be crying if I curb rash these! Got my Vantage/DB9 tail lights ready to go....

Wheel info, updates, and pics....
Hey, all. Yah, I wish I could just up and quit.... Navy wouldn't like that and probably come looking for me.. Thanks for the interest in the project.
Green: From what I've found, the original 17x8 "Revolver" wheels came in 33mm offset. Those ghetto 20's on the car now are Ruff Racing R280 models 20x10 & 20x8.5 but I now can't find the offset specs anywhere and they may be discontinued (can find 5x120 but not 5x120.65). I think they were 20x10 30mm & 20x8.5 25mm and if you see below, factory numbers show opposite offsets. I'd trust the factory numbers IMO. You can see by the original pics of my car, that the front fender lips were rolled so I really want to trust the numbers below.... The XXR 527s wheels I got are both 20mm and I can almost assure you, they'd rub your front fenders at least. 527s are super-stretch tuner wheels for that "hella-flush" look (garbage in my opinion) and designed to put the wheel out into the fender lip but they have the GT1 look and specs I was looking for. I'll be mounting the tires to them sometime next week and can give you a better idea then (at least on the back wheels). Stay tuned. Are you thinking of getting XXRs for your car?

Passenger Door pics:
Second picture shows my original dilemna. I could not get the kits door line to follow the original Jaguar's door line. It looks like it should work but doesn't. The first pic shows as good as I could get the alignment. Notice that 3/4" gap up front between door and fender? Yah, like that on both sides. Notice the nice, tight gap initially at the top of the door and then it gets wide and tight again along the door bottom? Yah, something else to fix... More tomorrow.. R

Tensioners = YIKES! Rear end pics...
Green.... Man, I hope it's not the tensioners. John Fox talked to me about them and he said you can pull the valve covers and see the tensioners enough to get an idea of their condition and whether they're the newer designs. What kinds of sounds are coming from the engine? Able to do the repair yourself if it's just the tensioners? Crossing my fingers for ya!
A lot of area to fill and blend! I read claims from CarKitInc that you can maintain an operating trunk, but I had to wack the back face of the trunk off.... We shall see..

Just a suggestion, but it looks to me that extra height on the rear quarter is identical to the shortage on the door jamb.. Cut the side skirt on the bottom of the door jamb an you should be able to drop the quarter panel down which will automatically raise up the door side and fill the gap..it should be easy enough to get the side skirt to fit...

trunk stuff...hmmm
Good thought, Green. I'd been going off this build:
And, then I found this picture which points more toward what you're saying:
I like the Vanquish S rear look. It has a centered dovetail instead of the straight across arch. I went back out to the garage and looked at the rear end. I'll just have to make it work, just another compromise I'll deal with.. R

Bad Jurid/flex coupling. Pic
I'd noticed the driveshaft coupling was bad but did realize how bad. Talk about dangerous! Wound up having to take the driveshaft completely out; pain in the butt with the car on jack-stands.. Going to weld up Exhaust tomorrow and I'll be done with the underside of the car!
Green, I know the wheel adapters I'm using are 73.9mm so I'll probably be able to just sandpaper them out to our hub spec. Shouldn't take much at all.
