I am looking for someone who is familiar with jaguars, specifically the 2003 xtype or similar models.

Thanks

Let me know if you hear of anything. I'm going to be moving to Ann Arbor in Fall.

While this is an old post I found an independent shop call Eastern Auto Company in Southfield, Mi. I have not as yet had any work done but I talked to them on the phone and they seem to know what their doing. I will be having them do my timing chain tensioners on my XK8 when the weather allows. I'll post my experience with them after.

I'm in Ann Arbor for school and I will be having my transmission fluid flush, transfer case and rear diff drain and fill done this Thursday on my X-Type before I head back home to West Michigan (where there are a lot more Euro/Jag techs in the immediate area) next week for spring break. Within Ann Arbor limits itself there is only one shop left that still works on Jaguar specific stuff. Their name is Professional Automotive Technicians (P.A.T.) and they work on pretty much all Euro makes. This is where I'll be having my work done this week.

When I called them to ask about prices and services they seemed to know what they were doing for the most part. As far as the services I requested they couldn't give me an immediate answer for my questions, so they asked that I give them a couple days to research methods, materials, prices and get back to me. When I called them I knew everything there was needed to know beforehand and when they got back to me it was exactly as I expected.

I'll let you know how the actual service experience goes, but everything is going well so far.

If you call around local shops and the first thing you ask is "Do you work on Jaguars?" the first they'll tell you is "no" and to call P.A.T. So if you wanna get quotes and estimates from other places just give them a generic description of the type of work you're looking at. If you mention Jag first they'll assume the worst and that only P.A.T. will tackle it.

How did your service go at P.A.T. ? I've yet to take mine in and I may look at P.A.T. as an alternative.

I used P.A.T. and was happy with their work. Very professional and seemed to care about the customer.

Sorry I never replied. They were pretty professional to work with. They actually did a very in-depth inspection of my car, whereas other places say they do an inspection and then all they really do is just take a quick glance.

If you live in Ann Arbor city limits they'll even pay for the cab fare to and from work, home, or wherever to their shop when you drop it off or pick it up.
