Default Independent Shop in Indianapolis Area?

I recently purchased a 2016 F Type R that will need some maintenance in the Spring. Looking to have front and rear differential fluid changed and brake fluid changed to Castrol SRF. I have heard good things about the Jaguar tech at Tom Wood (Steve Petry?) but I'm not a fan of dealership shop rates. Does anyone know of a good independent Jag mechanic in the Indianapolis area?

Default Repair shop in Indianapolis

Hi there, I came across this repair shop here in Indianapolis. I have not used them but have them in mind if needs be. The name is PETE'S SERVICE CENTER specializing in European and classic auto repair. They have been around since 1955. They claim savings up to 35% on dealer repair pricing and offer 2yr/24k service parts warranty.
They are located at 2525 E 56th St. Indianapolis. Contact #317 383-0906.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may stop by and check them out once the weather warms up. I also may stop in at GRP and see how they are for rates on maintenance work since I am close by. They seem to work on a wide variety of high-performance cars.

Then again, I may find out it is cheaper to just go ahead and buy a lift and do it myself. 😄

Glad to help out, I'm about to do an oil change and front brakes due to annoying squealing. Also thinking about coolant flush but need to research making sure not to trap any air. Hope to catch up with you again at the Cars n Coffee events.

Hey Gearhead, reading your older post and wonder if you ever found a good independent shop you like?. I live in Carmel and got my F-type last March from Graham Rahal Perf. Their shop is impressive and I just got 4 new all seasons put on at GRP, but I have no mechanical work done there. Its a nice place to hang out though.

For the time being I'm going to Tom Wood for general service like oil changes.

Good to connect with a fellow Indy area F owner

A few updates since my initial post on local shops in the Indianapolis area:
  • I used GRP to change fluids in front and rear diffs and transfer case, as well as brake fluid upgrade (Motul RBF 600) in early 2023. They did a good job and prices seemed reasonable.
  • I had the dreaded plastic Y-pipe failure in May 2023. I took the car to Reggie's Motorworks in Noblesville to have aluminum pipes installed. They were good to work with and installed the aluminum pipes I provided. They had done several plastic pipe replacements on JLR engines previously, but had not used the aftermarket aluminum pipes. Like GRP, Reggie's is very involved in the local car enthusiast scene, and you can usually see their shop car and several employees and their cars participating at track days at Putnam Park.
  • I bought a set of QuickJacks, a MityVac, a pressure bleeder, and other tools so I can do most of my own maintenance now. The only thing I have needed a shop for the past couple of years was an alignment. I had GRP do that this summer.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the response, appreciate it. I did get a card from Reggie's at their tent at the Carmel Automobilia this fall. But I still like GRP. Even had a nice conversation with Graham Rahal when I bought the car.

Just a side note. My son-in-law has a 2021 F-type V6 with 30K mi and his rear differential started failing, lots of gear noise. He has been waiting for a new one for 3 months with no end in site for delivery.
He eventually will have it installed at Tom Wood. Under warranty thank goodness.
