Default Warranty Ending

This is the only vehicle that my wife and I have ever owned that had a warranty and we have really enjoyed (and used) that luxury. As the expiration of that warranty is looming, I've been looking at possibilities:

1. Replacing with a new XF - although the prices on new XFs are reasonable, IT ONLY COMES WITH A 4-CYL ENGINE! I can't do that, especially coming from a supercharged 6-cyl.

2. Extending the warranty - the extended warranty that the Jag dealer showed us did not cover so many items that it seemed useless at over $6,000 for three years.

3. Let the warranty expire and take the chance that there won't be any huge problems. The salesman assured us that the Jaguar Incontrol apps would still work at no extra charge, and that we would still get a complimentary loaner or rental during the repair, and that delivery and pickup would still be available for free. I find this hard to believe, but even if we are charged for those, it would be cheaper than over $2,000/year for the extended warranty, and over $60,00o for a new one with a PUNY 4-CYL!

Any advice form those who have been through this?

We're in the same boat with ours expiring in Feb.2023. We got quoted $5k for a 3 year bumper to bumper, same coverage as the CPO program.

I agree with your 4-cylinder sh@t-box opinion.

Tough time to buy a car right now.
