Default Winter tires

Looking for feedback on winter tires. Pirelli winter 240s or Blizzak LM60s?

What results has anyone has in snow, ice, cornering, and wear?

Thanks

Default Winter Tires

I have had 2 sets of Blizzak's and could not have been happier. Our
Last set was on our 1993 XJ6 and this car was a tank in heavy snow, cornered well in slippery conditions! I just bought a 2005 XJ8L and when I got to the dealer I was a bit upset that it had a very new set of Blizzak's. I asked why this car had winter tires in August? Turns out it was traded in at the dealer with the Blizzak's on the car. They offered to switch out. I knew I wanted these tires this winter anyway so I took them and drove home. I immediately bought a new set of Pirelli P Zero Nero's and will put the Blizzak's on in late December!

Blizzaks are great on any car. Solid performance.

I have a set of Goodyear Ultra Grip ICE WRT on my S. Unfortunately, I don't think they make them to fit OEM Rims. I got a set of rims off a Lincoln LS when I bought the car from the original owner. Tire size, if I remember right, is 215/60 R16. These are fantastic tires. I drove through a snow storm through the Rocky Mountains last year and was passing 4WD trucks. Great on dry roads too. No "squishy" feeling.

P.S. They out-perform Blizzaks in side by side testing.

Default Blizzak tire experience

I used Blizzaks for 3 years on my XJ8. Like night and day difference in winter driving. I would recommend to any one based on my experience. In fact I heavily promote them for anyone keeping their car and driving in winter climes.
