Nice! All over, just like me. I recently moved from Philadelphia but before that I was in the Navy and my father was in for 20 so we moved all over.
Welcome to Mass! (Even though I'm new, too...)

I am in NH as well. I'm looking for the best dealer for warrant work. Which is better, Exeter or Woburn, MA?

I'm in the Boston area too. Just got a 2001 XJ8 and I'm looking for a good affordable repair shop that can work on these cars.

Chicopee MA here, 03 xtype auto with 86,000 miles .
Anybody now a good dealer to get work done at in Wmass? the Hartford deals a rip.
I have ended up doing alot of work myself. like
oil changes
air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter
drive belt, waterpump belt
coolant resevoir ( nipple leak)
rear brakes, disc and pads
prop shaft grease

Stuff i need to do is,
rear swaybar bushings, Transfer case fluid change, and maybe a transmision fluid change, also might need a propshaft replacement (i still get a little hum even though i grease it every time im under there)

Wats up guys, I'm from Woburn.
I just bought a 99 XJR(101000). I love the car but, something is wrong with it, every time i hit a pothole i think the car is going to stall out.

SILVERCAT idk if you know this, but if you work at a dealer, you get a discount at any dealership. I used to work for jeep and got discounts at all the dealerships.

I'm from Taunton, MA. I use the Jag dealer in Norwood...good service and price I pay is reasonable.

Hartford Jag was a lifesaver when my Jag broke down at Blanford, Mass Pike. Hartford Jag retreived my car, replaced my gearbox and delivered my car to my door at my house in Taunton, MA...150 miles away. And I didn't even buy my car from them.

Oh yeah one more thing...Don't!!! change the tranny fluid. The Jag trans is sealed for life and a Jag dealer won't do it. And if you do, and don't buy the Jag tranny fluid at $50.00/qt (9 qts) and you substitute something else...it will screw up your tranny.

Is there a jaguar club in MA?
We should have an MA meet, i know all other forums do. Its going to be a great summer we should set something up.
I am starting a count to see how many people are interested.

Just some of the information I've been able to find, there isn't much and I haven't done much more than bookmark them at this point:

http://www.jcna.com/
I think that's about it...

I'm in MA as well. Been using the Norwood dealer when necessary but I'd be interested to hear if anyone's had luck with indie mechanics in the area.

Has anyone taken their Jag to Motor Cars International at the intersection of rtes 24 and 104 in Bridgewater? I hears they're certified to work on Jags.

I'd appreciate it if you would tell me what you find rather than relying on heresay.

Motor Cars International, being right off the highway would be easy enough to find.

Best of luck.

Motor Cars International right off rte 24 on rte 104 toward Bridgewater.

I went there to get a spare key and met Greg, a master mechanic who's worked on Jaguars for 20 years.

Did you observe the condition of the facility? I did a BBB check and they have had a few issues over the years but still rate an "A".

One of the consequences of not using a Jag dealer direct and using a foriegn car specialist is parts can take a bit of time to be acquired as the foreign car location has to get parts through the Jag dealer. Foreign car specialists are not going to stock a lot of parts. Motor Cars Int. would have to go through Hanover Jaguar in Hanover, MA or Jake Kaplan in Norwood, MA. In additon to the time the dealer has to get the part this could add several days to the time your car is OOC if the part is not in stock at the dealer. The part can cost more through the foriegn car specialist as the dealer will mark up the price by 10% over cost to the foreign car specialist. The foreign car specialist will then mark up the price 30% over retail...this might offset any labor savings...

good to see theres a bunch of people from MA here, we should all meet somewhere central...
anyways the x needs both rear wheel bearings, which ill replace this coming wednesday, four new tires and four new shocks, which are coming on the 12th, put new pads and discs, an oil change and an alignment and the cat is ready to go
also the dealer in norwood gets me good prices, never been for service but being able to get a discount in parts is always welcome.
pce

Thumbs up New Jaguar owner

I just got a pre-owned dark green 2000 Jaguar XJ8 VDP on the road this past week after having it serviced at the Woburn Foreign Motors - Jaguar Dealership. They are beautiful cars and this one handles great

Manchester NH here. Anybody got experience with the dealership over in Exeter? I'm not needing service yet but would be good to know just in case. Thanks for the heads up about Lee Jaguar down in MA.
