To my fellow enthusiasts:

As we put together our final preparations for Sandy here in the NE

I wanted to share the following pointers with you I found helpful:

If your looking for flashlight and batteries - forget about the big box stores like Lowe's - check the small, local hardware stores or even the "dollar stores" - that's where the wife found flashlights and batteries yesterday and they were in abundance.
Many of the shopping centers (Shop Rite) stocked overnight. I went shopping at 1am for the last of the necessities, including water.
For those of you living in the urban areas - while people are out - now would be the time to find suitable parking - be aware of large trees and overhead power lines - try to avoid parking your vehicle near them.
Park high up on a hill or incline (remember - engage parking brake) and don't park in areas prone to flooding.
