Default Jaguar Alive Driving Experience

Hey guys,

Jaguar will be in flushing NY for the event, from November 2-4. Anybody planning on attending?
We could possibly make a mini meet out of it.

I might be in attendance if I don't have to travel for work...

Are you guys getting invites to these events or how are you signing up? I signed up on the Jag site to be informed of events, but since I live in Western New York I may be too far away for them to invite me. Still, these are the closest events to where I live and I'd make a road trip out of it.

I rec'd an invite. I'm pretty sure it was due to taking a test drive in an XKR-S and XF up at the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival.
I'm not sure if this is the same "driving experience" that the purchasers of new Jaguars receive.

No, this is not the Jaguar R Performance Academy. I just returned from that event which was held at the Las Vegas Speedway. I did speak with the instructors and some of them will be at the events in Flushing and Rye.

One of the instructors dropped by our shop today. He said the Rye event was booked full just from the first invites that went out. Usually they send a few rounds of invites out before they get enough people to call it full.

The newer models are getting some solid respect in the NY metro area - a very strong buying market for luxury cars. Glad to see it.

Probably not as upset as the people who still don't have power, the people whose neighborhoods are still under fallen trees, and so forth.

With miles long lines to get fuel, traffic restrictions in and around the city, flooding still being abated, electricity and fresh water still an issue in many places (including LIC, Astoria, Flushing) and air travel still disrupted it would be rather tacky to have the event go on.

Sorry your feelings are hurt by people using common sense.

(Full disclosure - I planned and executed many similar events for GM and we always erred on the side of positive PR caution too.)

well i mean, im not THAT upset about the situation.....it was an exaggeration. with that being said, they had cancelled the event on the sunday even before the hurricane hit, when it was only a few gusts of wind. who knew it would hit catastrophic levels
