Blew clutch on 2002 X-type in Fishkill, NY on Sat before Sande. Got ahold of White Plains Jag on Monday, and had it towed there. Was quoted $3000 for clutch. Finally got through on phone the next Fri., and surprisingly they had the job done.

The real surprise was that they had found the problem to be the Master cylinder, and the entire thing cost $350.

I really reccommend them, as they knew they could have taken me for the entire clutch, as I wasn't there(live in NH), and couldn't monitor the job.
I've been taken by several dealers in similar situations in the past, and am impressed White Plains completed the job a week faster than originally estimated, and did the right thing all the way.

thats awesome! nothing more relieving that having your bill cut to a 1/10th of the price because of honesty and good mechanics

I live in Nashua, NH. They knew I wouldn't be back to watch work or check parts, etc, and still did the right thing. They even told my wife that if the clutch does turn bad the service rates in NH were better, so better to have it done here.

Don't see that type honesty all the time.

Hi. I noticed your post about White Plains Jag. I live in Scarsdale and have a 2001 xj8 I use Hectors Auto in Tuckahoe for repairs and try to buy parts on my own whenever i can. Usually saves money. Hector's seems reasonable at $93 an hour. Used to be on Central Ave near Ardsley Rd. at Victory or Viceroy Motors, or something like that.

Where do you have your car maintained?

 

I bought my jag there,2012 XJ-L. The staff there is great. I had a very positive buying experience.

 

I live in NH and normally go to Exeter Jaguar.
