Fifth Annual Leavenworth Drive version 2.0
I propose a drive. Levenworth. We can meet up at my place on Ben Howard near Highway 2 and head up for the day. The lead up will inspire me to do some neglected maintenance before the drive.
Leavenworth isn't very car-club-friendly anymore - they have blocked off downtown parking, added speed bumps, and the city has actually cancelled or rejected several recurring car club events. They also cancelled Oktoberfest permanently.
Winthrop is a longer drive but a truly stellar road. Chinook pass is open and the roads on the East side of Rainier are incredible.
The loop from Vader through Pe Ell and out to Long Beach and back on Hwy 4 is surprisingly great, also, and has less weather surprises than the passes.

I mean - I dunno what you mean by 'permanently cancelled' but, it's on for this year, as per their own websites.
That being said, parking is tricky. In years past, we typically drive west of the center of town a few blocks and park at a school lot.
If possible, I'd attend if we do it, but... we've also tried to do it in late September to avoid snow on the passes. Our first year we did it in October and the snow was thick on Snoqualmie. We had some puckering as we tiptoed over that.
