Sweet!
Welcome! Hope we get to meet at a drive this summer (if we can get someone to organize one.)!

Just got back into Jag's again I rebuilt an '85 XJ6 as a kid, but it's been a while. I will make a proper post with more details on the NW page. My name is Erik, and I live in Granite Falls WA, and there will be another E-type on the road in Snohomish county this summer

New owner here - Woodinville, Washington. After driving too many F types and lusting for one for the last few years I made the mistake of renting an XKR on turo. I liked it so much I bought it! Helps that my 3 year old fits in it though

Default Congratulations!

Welcome to the bright side. I've had my XKR eight years now. Still puts a smile on my face.

Welcome recent folks!

Traditionally we've done a couple of drives and even a Leavenworth Beer Run in late September / early October. With COVID doing its thing, I'm not sure that'll happen this year, but here's to hoping!

As and FYI, some clubs are still doing drives. I'm still a member of the Miata club, and my wife and I are crashing their Mt Rainier run on Saturday with the F-Type. Admittedly, it's not a Beer run, and will end up as a bring-your-own picnic lunch...

I wish someone would organize a drive, 'cause I miss seeing friends and meeting new ones!

Clearly myself and Muddydog have backed away from organizing or contributing anything for the betterment of the PNW group, but the desire to drive without the complications of organizing is still there for me.
This is now the second year without group drives, and Covid isn't helping. Grrrrr

Hope all of you are staying safe out there!
Vince

Yeah I'd love to do a group drive or something. I used to organize drives and whatnot for prior groups I was in so I can appreciate not wanting to do that LOL. I would love to meet some other owners sometime and do a simple drive. Who knows, maybe i'll try to get something going sometime here as I've had an itch for a nice drive! Hard to justify getting out right now with all the smoke though.

The drives were fun and I miss them too. I think COVID knocked the wind out of everyone’s sails this year. Now the gross smoke ugh. But I’d be up for a drive if someone plans something and it coincides with decent weather.

Even the car shows have been cancelled this year. That Rona is a bitch and needs to go away already!

I have year round cars. I'll go on year round drives. The smoke is more of a problem than The 'Rona, IMO. We don't have to hang out withing 6' of each other, etc.

Work has been busy for me lately, and the weekends have had chores to do.

Exotics@RTC have a thing going on this weekend for a 'yearbook' shenanigan. More or less an ode to all the things we didn't do this year. https://www.exoticsat.com/blog/2020/...6kgxjgfxadfql2

I'll probably take the Roller by on Sunday for that, as they're assigning time blocks to show up in.

My eldest son was in Leavenworth last weekend and said that brats n beers were available. So maybe we still do a leavenworth run in a few weeks?

Leavenworth has obviously canceled Oktoberfest, but you can bet the diehards will still swamp the town. Second weekend in October maybe?

Ugggg Both my Jags are down, but the XKR is just a bad water pump (i hope), so it shouldn't be a hard fix.

I had begun hearing it, maybe a week or two ago, but it was a light chatter. The chatter got worse so a peek under the hood showed the water pump pulley wobbling all over the place. Haven't lit the car since.... Still gotta order the pump from rockauto, and a few accessories from Jag, but it looks to be an easy job.
Sucks because the XK is literally running on bald tires, so I dont dare use it.

Complicating matters were the tires on my Galant (my last roadworthy car.). Last Thursday I discovered the tread starting to separate from the tire itself... I mean, I knew they were shot, with zero grip, but I still had enough tread that going a few more months was not a big deal....but once I saw a 9 inch slit where the tread was lifting, that luxury came to an immediate end.
Owning 15" rims sucks! No one makes a good tire for that size any more! And since I cant buy new 16" rims right now, I settled on Yokohama Ascend GT's I would rather have had a good summer tire, not A/S. Grrrrr
