telematics control module
Hey, so I have a 2017 Jaguar XJ R-Sport SC AWD that I bought in June. The previous owner had a Jaguar Remote subscription, so I could use the app to start the car remotely when I took ownership. The subscription was going to end in September, so I renewed it, but after that, the remote start feature stopped working. It kept showing an error message saying the car was in deep sleep.
I called Jaguar directly, but they couldn't fix it over the phone. They told me to take the car to the dealer because it might need an update. I took it to the dealer on October 9th, and after two weeks, they said they were having trouble updating the car and had opened a technical case with Jaguar manufacturing in the UK.
Today, they called me and said they couldn't update the car because there was an internal problem with the telematics control module. I asked them why it suddenly happened since it was working fine before I renewed my subscription. they didn't give me a clear explanation.
So, that's the whole situation. They want to charge me $3000 to replace the module. Any advice on what to do?
