Default Trickle charge

I recently purchased a 2001 xkr convertible and had a new Bosch battery installed prior to being shipped to me
The car is in a heated garage but sits for a few days at a time.
At the recommendation of the mechanic in Vancouver he also provided me with a Bosch trickle charger.
Should I have this on the car always or just when it is stored through the winter?

Welcome to the forum austinivor,

Modern Jaguars are very sensitive to battery condition and partial discharge can throw up all kinds of weird error messages.

The standard Jaguar battery tender is a CTEK but I expect your Bosch is similar?

I don't worry about leaving my XK (or previous XK8's) standing for a few days but hook it up to the CTEK if it's going to be a week or more.
