Default Dallas Meet and Greet

Hey guys,
How about a meet and greet in or around Dallas sometime soon? I'm in the McKinney area but I'm willing to drive anywhere DFW area to meet some guys.

My suggestion is that we can meet at a local car show and crash it with jags and have lunch. Most people don't see jags often and it would be crazy to see a group in one spot.

I'm completely open to suggestions and input.

Greg

You just missed a couple of good ones. The British car show at White Rock Lake in May and the Autos in the Park at the Cooper Aerobics Center on Preston in North Dallas a couple of weeks ago had dozens of Jags. I go to one car show or another just about every weekend with one of my domestic antique cars. I've only once entered the XJ8 in a show as its not really old enough or rare enough to garner much attention and its currently being used as my daily driver. One of my favorite monthly shows is sponsored by Christian Classic Cruisers on the 3rd Saturday of each month in North Richland Hills. That was last night. Usually 150 to 200 cars, heavily muscle car oriented but big enough to have a little of everything. There's one E-type there nearly every month (I think it belongs to one of the club members). July would be a good month to take the Jag as my old Corvette's a/c doesn't work very good. Of course, you're close to Cars & Coffee in Frisco, I think that's the first Saturday each month. I've never made it up there and need an excuse to check it out.

Cars and coffee is great and I go though a couple times a year. It's s lot of the same guys month after month so I don't go too often.

I would like to go to the Christian classic show next month.

I know you can go to Community > Members and Search Members > Advanced Search, enter a location name. What makes that a difficult proposition is that the Dallas area is something like 80 different cities, not to mention all the members who've entered incorrectly spelled, non-specific or abbreviated locations. I don't know of any simpler way to do it.

To be honest there isn't really a simpler / quicker way to do it I'm afraid.

Perhaps as a starting point for those that may be interested, if it was me?

A quick scroll through some of the more popular threads here in the section, will quickly give a list of around at least 30+ names I'd imagine.

A standard pm sent out in batches of 5 ( pm limit ) to those I'm sure would generate at least a starting point.

Anyone that may be up for it will probably know one or perhaps more members that me also be up for it and so on, a snowball effect, hopefully...............

Jim, just joined the forum. My first Jag! Bought a 2013 XF last week. I live in the Cedar Hill Duncanville area near Joe Pool Lake. Work at DFW airport and would meet anywhere as well. Brian

I'm up for it! I'm pretty sure that my buddy Bill would be up for it too. As he owns about 15 XJS's that he bought in the year, he's probably responsible for XJS values going up in the last year. I think that he's trying to create a bubble

I'm up and live in Hurst. A 4 week planning horizon will make sure I can make it...I work part-time retail and need that much lead time to get off.

Pick a date in September, and let's do it.

Hi,

I'm in Sanger, and would love to get together with some Jag folks. With a little help I could host 30 cars on my farm. Maybe do hot dogs and hamburgers, etc.

Keep em coming guys......

Anyone want to take the " bull by the horn" so to speak and try to get this set up?

So far with very little effort there seems more than a few that are interested.
