Momentum Southwest Houston
10 days ago i drop my car to the body shop.(rear Bumper) . after several email and no response i decide fro drive there . my car was ready . when i start my dashboard show: CATS Fault. i ask what happen . they didn't know .but may be we didn't reconnect well the module. i have to leave my cars at 6 pm go again to the rental car company.
Today they say i have to change the module. i explain what happen between the time i drop the car (working well) and know . is not our fault.
Is not the first time i have this type of issue . each time my cars go to momentum after 2-3 more problems occur . when i ask to change the part they (module) they say don't make any more . one of the co-worker who leaving from work tell me to not to take my car back ... he say they are focus about revenues and sale . they never going to please customer . i buy a jaguar and land rover to this dealership but it is the last time

I'm having similar experience at another dealership but find a well informed customer is the best defense. Going forward I'm doing my own work, it's not about cost it's about peace of mind that nothing else will be tampered with. I just sent it in for the radio code and the brake switch, 1200.00 later now I'm having issues. Someone on here works at Momentum they may be able to shed light on your particular situation.

Well for one we have been a pride of jaguar dealer many times over the years and have one of the best customer satisfaction standards in the nation. Body shop is the body shop not service dept so i dont speak for them. And just because jaguar cant get a part for a car that isnt something we can control.
Something many people dont realise is this. Remember when our wonderfull president bailed out gm, chrysler etc. Welll they cancelled the debts to their suppliers and there was no bail out for the supplier and many of them went out of business. There are only really handfulls of supplier out there for all the manufacturers. Now suddenly there are parts shortages and part no longer being made because that supplier is out of business. Case in point, if you have a stype and your sunroof fails, youre sol because that company no longer is in business and the part is not produced. Many times i hear that jaguar is working to find new suppliers and this is a industry issue from other techs on other car lines say the same.
Soooo. Philbou contrary to what you may think, wee dont break thing or create new problems, we want your car fixed right the first time and out the door, we'de like to see you back for service work and regular maintenace not more broken stuff. Let me ask you this, was your car hit in the rear? Because that module is located right behind the back bumper in the trunk and maybe was damaged then and just didnt show, or maybe god forbid could it have been just a coincidence??? I meen i wouldn't blame the plumber for my bathroom fan going out after he fixed my toilet even though he was working in the same area would you, and some point things fail, its not our fault is something chooses to fail while its here is it

Brutal, i understant you point and on most i agree, but do you think is normal i sent 5 emails about my concern and no body reply , when i call to express my concern the message are" leave a message we call you back". today i stop by motorcars and guess what: my Module was fine , just unplug properly . Momentum ask me $1400 to fix the problem , motors cars fix for free. sorry i left $ 50 tips for the good service. what make a company is a peoples who work for.what about customer service i forgot , this morning i realize they forgot all bottom screw on the bumper . when i drive the bumper is moving .
so another stop tomorrow for them to fix it . and no sorry sir just :bring you car back .ops you understand my frustration

Yeah i agree with you, not good, but thats just one more reason i have so much distrust with just about any body shop. Too many dont care what underneath as long as the outside looks good. I just had a similar issue with thunderbolt motors. A rod spun in my sons buick and i needed the engine rebuilt. Just finished doing the custom hiperformance build of my 05 nissan frontier with a bigger supercharger and getting alot of flack at work about personal cars in the lot. So i needed the engine rebuilt cheaply so i can work on jags and get the car running again. So long story short they called after pulling the engine and said your short block is fine but you overheated the engine and cracked the heads?????excuse me! Never happened, the advisor tried argueing with me and telling me anothe r $500 for core on the heads. I explained im a ase master tech and have been for decades. He said i could come down if i didnt believe him, so i did. And guess what. The heads werent torn down or inspected, they did it while i watched and no they werent cracked but number 2 rod bearing had spun like i knew all along. They had pie on their face and imagine if it was just joe blow that didnt know any better. I told them upfront the issue and why i wasnt doing it and my expertiece to ward off any bs. Evidently someone wasnt listening. I didnt want to spend much as the cost already was right at the value of the car $2800. But ide already done alot for him on the car like new healiner, carpet, windshield, tint, a few other repairs and at some point you reach a point of commitment.
So in your case yeah i would have been looking for something disc. I even think i have one of those module i took out of a car when converting back to standard shocks instead of the adaptive. But maybe you should change your title to "body shop" as like i said we're 2 differant places. A body shop is a body shop, yes theyre trained on jaguar "body repairs" not mechanicall or electrical jaguar repair like i am. No dealer body shop people are. Theyre bodymen period. I spend alot of time on here not ust helping jaguar owners but trying to offset some off the dealership public attitudes too. So you can imagine that if my/our attitude is to help others like this we must be fairly decent service dept. Not a body shop where you had your experiance, have a issue in the future, pm me or come see me. Bill

i really appreciate you comment and I agree, but again I drop my car and after this I'm not a specialist to determine where my car have to land and on witch hand . As the customer I drop to momentum jaguar and I pickup when job is done . between the process is not my business . anyway let close this and I know Brutal (bill) you as always give a good advise to every body and I appreciate it . the last one I rad from you was to fix a front light with only one screw (this one was very good) Have a good day . I will stop again today after 4.00 for them to fix the bumper properly... Take care

Momentum SW
I am sorry for the problems some have had with Momentum SW, but my guess is that is isolated to a bad egg somewhere and not the dealership in general. I have dealt with Jay M. from service with great success and he has let my car go many times for no charge if it was just something loose, or no real labor involved to take care of.
Brutal, I'll be rolling in heavy in the Super V8 soon for a little TLC, but I always appreciate the work you guys do over there.
Cheers!

Brutal went out of his way to make sure that my vehicle was properly serviced, and he's going to be the only tech I'm going to trust with my car.
Since I was a board member, he allowed me to bring my XJ8 by his home, (on a Sunday, of all days) to inspect it, and save time and $$.
He gives great FREE advice on the boards on his own time.
If he's proud of the service department which he represents, then why not talk about it? More people should be proud of what they do!

i'm sharing only my experience , when you spend $150.000,00 every 5-7 years on cars you expect a good attitude and service .now if peoples feel different is fine for me .
my company generate over $20 millions a years with 250 employee. Yes we have some customers issue , but when is happen i pickup the phone my self to call my customers and try to understand what happen, and this is to be better next time . as today i sent email, left a message and guess what no call return or email. customers service survey i have every day with 5000 transaction daily and i know how company manipulate and read them. anyway is was just my experience and i know and sure there is plenty good peoples a momentum . Momentum body shop are the same company as volvo, jaguar, BMW and Austin mimi.

Everyone makes mistakes but I have second thoughts about using Kevin after unprofessional comments that. No I was not upset about the mistake and even tried to disarm the situation.
Like I said, the car was great and he did me right.

When I bought the car I was assured I could take the car to another dealer if I found any issues related to the car before I bought it. When the guys from the north store sent the invoice to the south store it was instantly rejected it was not a huge bill but when I am told repeatedly it will be taken care of don't worry about it and it doesn't get taken care of you just pissed me off and lost a customer.
