Just wanted to take a minute to say Howdy! I am in the process of buying a beautiful 1992 XJ6 Vaden Plas from a friend in Oklahoma. I can't wait to get the pictures for Ya'll. Pick up is planned for May 11th.

I do have a question. If anyone has bought a Jag from out of state and had to do the "safety inspection" for Texas. I am getting mixed signals from all the research I am doing. It is the normal inspection like from a Kwik Kar or dealer NOT the special one you have to do if importing from over seas that includes going to the police department to check for theft right?

Hahaha, I'm sure is just the basic one but I'm not sure. How are they shipping the car?

 

Since it is a buddy of mine we are going to be meeting up and I will pick it up myself. That way we can spend some time hanging out and I still get to make sure the car is safe for the ride home.

I have a big diesel truck for my DD right now so I'll just load it up on the trailer to bring it home.

 

yeah. it's just the regular inspection. be sure and get it done before you go to the tag office so you can take the green copy with you. they will want it to do the transfer so you can get your tags.

 

That is what I thought but who knows when it comes to the gooberment red tape.

Honestly I am really excited to get it. I haven't seen it in years but the guy that owns it takes really good care of his cars and minus a small electrical problem it runs and drives fine.

So does the DFW area have many meetups?
