Has anyone taken their cars to any of the schools / tracks in the central Texas area? If so where and what was your experience?

I've seen the websites for Driveway in Austin, Harris Hill Rd, Grandsport Speedway.. also some schools like The Drivers Edge. Most of these things are less than $400 for a day of driving.

I would like to drive my 07 xkr in a more spirited manner. Actually I want hoon it around before it is time to do my brake pad / rotor swap, and new tires.

Perhaps there should be a central Texas Jaguar Hoonage Day.

 

You might look into Texas World Speedway. You'll have to pass muster with vehicle and license.

 

A good school is LSRPCA which is a Porsche club, you can attend without being a member if you can get in and another good one is thedriversedge.net, Rick runs a good group.

Took my 07 STR to Harris Hill Road Racing on a Sunday, great place and great experience. Bo Rivers is awesome and I did the racing class w/instruction, lead-follow, and then hot laps. Great track and I was the 1st S-Type ever out there. Bo stayed in the car with me for detailed instruction and shared he had the most fun as a passenger as we talked Jaguars. Had the private instruction for about 45 minutes and well worth it!
