Default Good independent Jag mechanic in SF Bay Area?

I live in the Walnut Creek area, are there any good independent Jag mechanics near here?

2002 XJ8 37K miles

I've changed the spark plugs, engine oil/filter, air filter, DOT 4 brake fluid, and I'm going to flush the radiator coolant (just got the bottle from Jag dealer)

I would like to take it somewhere to change the trans fluid (now over 10 years old) and the fuel filter (just because)

How sad it is that there are zero responses to this...

Dave (De Longs Automotive) and his team are great! Have been there a couple of times and can recommend them.

P.S. Sometimes it's way cheaper to fix the car at a dealership than at other shops. LOL but true + 1 year warranty on all repairs.

I live in the Livermore area and have had good experience with this independent Jaguar repair shop:
Jaguar-British European Motors in Fremont. 510.794.7302 Nick is the owner and is very knowledgeable.

Honestly though I have also had excellent service and pricing (for Jaguar) from my local Jaguar dealer: Livermore Jaguar @ 800.518.2832. Ben McCoy is the service Mgr there. They give me a free loner car whenever I take my Jag in for repairs which makes it very convenient.

Hope this helps.

Thumbs up are you kidding? No contest!

no mentions of Continental Imports in Oakland? Honest, most knowledgeable and no service writers. Only Jag. see their incomparable yelp reviews. 15 5 star reviews. well said and deserved: "If you look through the reviews the Yelp's bots have screened out, you'll find that they praise this business so highly, they can't be for real. But take it from me, a Continental customer since 2003, the compliments are well earned." I have to post this as i feel i owe them far beyond whatever they have billed me. Talk to JC or son Carlos 510 532 6603. I'm reposting this to yelp as well. 2215 International.

I've used Continental Imports in Oakland and was very satisfied with them and their work.

I'm less satisfied they won't touch the transmission until it grenades for a $5200 swap, and also they no longer work on pre-1997 cars.

There are two Yelp reviews from two different people with almost that same exact language. Looks fishy to me.

But I do recommend them.

Default Btw just because they say they do jag don’t make it so.

Tried European motors in San Bruno - by Europe THEY only mean Germany. And the jag specialist at four corners garage in Burlingame listed as top jag mechanic on peninsula... I called to ask a jag question and the owner said we hardly ever see a jag here. I want a mechanic who I don’t know, let’s say...has another jag in his shop besides mine.

I asked a friend of mine who has a Jag in S.F. and he said to try either San Francisco Motorsports 415-259-5488, or Ed Wright's British Car Repair at 415-457-1707.

Thumbs up

Wow. Ask and ye shall receive. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR REPLIES! My Jag and I appreciate the information very much. I'm in need of a tranny service and a bit of suspension work, so I'll call around to those you've recommended and take it there.

Problem Solved.

I recently stopped by British European Motors in Cotati (Sonoma County) to talk over a non-Warranty question. Their advice was sound, their shop spotless, and the abundance of beautiful E-Types and other classics speaks well for the trust that others place in them--as does a friend's recommendation. I haven't yet used them myself but expect to for anything that Marin Luxury Cars won't cover under Warranty.

+1 on British European Motors - Cotati. I had a servicing from them. They do everything from vintage to current day. There is always an EType or two that are undergoing a rotisserie.

They are worth the travel.

Default British European Motors

I've only recently purchased my 2009 XKR but have gone to British European Motors in Cotati for over 15 years with my '74 Jensen Healey. Great work and I plan on using them for my Jag.

Any recommendations for shops actually in (or close to) San Francisco?
