I have a 2000 XK8 that was bought and used in the San Diego then Thousand Oak. I bought the car here in Oregon this past November 2008. I took my vin number to the Portland Jaguar dealer that showed what the car has as far as color and inside trim color and the size and type of wheels. I don't have the wheels on the car that show on the printout.

The printout didn't have any service records and nothing fixed under warranted time period. I contacted the Thousand Oaks dealer but they don't have records on an 8/9 year old car. Carfax showed a set of tires replaced and an oil change. Other than that nothing.

Other than an ABS/ASC/Traction Control available message once in a while in the message center that goes away if you shut the car off for 45 seconds then restart, the car runs fine. It's not broken so I don't want it fixed. If you know, what is the program number that's in the computer now (the one that should be there from the factory) and is there any flash updates for this car? If so, what do they fix/add or try and correct and what do they take away (if anything)?

I have a 2004 Powerstroke that ran great when I bought it but it was reflashed when the EGR valve was replaced. Now I have an F250 Power-Less Ranger! It sucks! Loss of power, shift points changed loosing a tow haul down shift from 2nd to 1st. Lowered the boost so the pre turbo EGT can run 1100 degrees climbing a hill empty.

Thanks for your time,
Mark
