Pain du Monde looks like a good choice- easy fwy access from the 73 south as well. It has the added benefit of being .5 miles from Newport Jaguar so one could roll a parts run into the morning if need be. The parking lot should be fine for 12-15 cars.

Any other suggestions?

The Bristol Pain du Monde, I think you mean, not the one down in Fashion Island. You said "parts", but the one on Fashion Island isn't far from the "car store".

Being part vampire, 0900 on Saturday amounts to oh-dark-oh-oh, but, if I'm not back East for a family thing, I can always stay up for it and sleep later. It's going into the appointment book.

Thanks for the effort, so far.

That is correct, the one on Bristol, 73 south Exit Jamboree, left at the first opportunity, then left again at the first light (Bristol) PDM is on the right.

The Parts and Service dept of Newport Jaguar is on Campus across from John Wayne Airport (Dove is the cross street I believe)

Let's lock it in for 9am March 3rd then. Please RSVP to this thread and I will look forward to seeing you all then!

FYI- the 9am timeslot gives anyone interested in going to Irvine Cars and Coffee the opportunity to make it a "twofer" Saturday morning.

Please come prepared to discuss what would make this club/guild/clan provide the most value to you, as I believe that value will make this a successful venture for all. My list includes:

Technical advice/help
Bulk purchasing power
Giving back to the Jaguar community/jaguar forums (whether is is $$ or knowledge)
Joining/creating events (perhaps to benefit charity)
Specialty tool pool

Looking forward to the inagural meeting tomorrow- please bring any ideas you have for events and what you would find valuable in a group such as this. Let's plan on 9-11ish for the first meetup, here is the exact location:

Pain du Monde
1000 N. Bristol
Newport Beach, CA

(from the 55 south)
73 South, Exit Jamboree, Left at Jamboree then Left immediately on Bristol. It's just a short bit down the road from there.

For those of you that are planning to go to cars and coffee Irvine beforehand, 405 North, Exit Jamboree- Left onto Jamboree, then right on Bristol.

Cheers!

I'm in the same boat as Brizco. Just found this thread, but would be up for it in the future. I hope everything went well and that the next one isn't too far off.

Hi Briz, Rave-

It went very well- I had hoped to post some pictures and an update sooner. We met, had coffee and breakfast- shared our cars. I might add the vehicle mix was outstanding, we had representation from most of the current categories and the folks that showed were a great group. We have a mix of folks with knowledge and experience from all walks of life.

We convened the first meeting, set up a couple of officers (President, Treasurer) and I accepted the role of "mother" which is a perfect fit as I will (hopefully) facilitate the the forward movement and longevity of the club!

For the next two meetings, we will be at the same location as we scout for the "right" one, and our meetings will be the second Saturday of the month (which coincides with the British turnouts at Cars N Coffee Irvine- I forgot to mention that was the reason for choosing the 2nd Sat...) at 9am at the Bristol PDM location.

For membership info, feel free to email ocjaguarclub at gmail dot com.

Default Me and another friend are trying to do the same thing in long beach and LA.

Lets merge the two and try to get this thing going. I currently attend car meets and would be willing to organize this thing we could meet somewhere in the middle of OC and LA. Please email me if your interested. I'd like to set a date for next week.

Brizco-

Yes, we will be meeting the second Saturday of April (April 11 for those of you following the Gregorian calendar) at Pain Du Monde on Bristol.

Colin- Feel free to drop by our meeting, and as a bonus, Cars And Coffee Irvine is only about 5 miles away so it would be convenient to go there from 6:30-8:30, then the meeting from 9-11.
