Seattle XJ8 needs a good mechanic, not pay for a dealer's boat...
I was given my 98 XJ8 by my father who (bless his departed soul) was too cheap to take good care of the car. Now in the grips of winter, I'm determined to find someone who knows how to troubleshoot heater core issues.
The controls all work, the fans all work, but the air that comes into the cabin never gets hot. There's no fluid leaking from anywhere in the heater system, so my question is, could the core (or matrix as the dealer's mechanics call it) be bad? What else could be the culprit?
Thanks in advance,
DBC

You might wanna check the electric heater pump to make sure it's working. Without it there won't be much flow thru the heater core.
IF the pump isn't working it can be repaired if you're good with your hands. As I understand it they usually just need new brushes...which you can source from a hobby store or such. A new pump from Jaguar is silly-exepsnive...several hundred dollars, I think.
Cheers
