I recently was called upon by a Jaguarforums.com member who was interested in my services. Joolz called me and we had the chance to thoroughly discuss my detailing and paint correction needs for her newly aquired 1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. I has asked her in advance to please order some factory touch up paint for some scratch repair's that she had requested.

So it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in Marina Del Rey, which was were I traveled (about 50 miles each way) for this job. Upon arrival I noticed the Jaguar parked, showing it's state of neglect from the previous owner. But underneath the dust, pollen and excessive fine scratches was the most beautiful Amaranth purple color just waiting to come alive.....The inside was almost flawless and very well preserved, which is a very rare find....

I was very fortunate to be able to work in such a gorgeous place...a nice cool 77 degrees on the water sure beats 92 degrees inland.....Thanks Joolz..

For this particular detail, the vehicle received my "Silver Package" which offered all the correction a Dual Action (D/A) polisher could deliver. No high speed or rotary polishing was performed on this vehicle, 3 steps with the D/A and these were the results that were achieved.......I would have to say that it was a great recovery from where we started......

For the paint correction this is what was used.........

Thorough wash
Complete clay and surface prep

Porter Cable XP was utilized

1st step - LC Hydro Cyan 5.5 pad w/ Megs M105
2nd step - Megs W8006 w/ Megs M205
3rd step - Megs W9006 w/ Megs M21

Our own resident Dave at Innovative Detail! I have a beautiful 1998 Jaguar VDP that needed a good detail. Dave and his pal Ben came out to my office lot and did a fantastic job! The shine is amazing, from the beautiful amaranth mica paint to the chrome tailpipes! The carpets and leather looks like new and he even took care of a little touch up paint form an incident on the LA freeway! I was educated about the proper wash and sponges, and he showed me the tools before he began the job. No small detail was omitted. Dave knows what he is doing and is worth the extra time and dollar. No question, Dave will be back to take care of my Jagatha!

Give him a shout if your car needs a good once over!

Its a cool thing when the virtual community blends into the real world. it was good to meet Fave, and treat Jagatha to such superb care!
