As you might know, I just came into ownership of the car who's maintenance thread is in my signature; this morning we found more memorabilia.. Umbrellas, stuffed Jaguar plushies, toy cars, model cars, at least six 1st in class plackards, a 750ml bottle of 1st place Jaguar booze bottle, local Jaguar car club membership plackards, 1st place ribbons, commemorative dish ware; etc.

It really got me thinking about exactly what effort he put into it and exactly how I would live up to his dying wish, "Make sure it goes to someone who will give it a good home."

I'm starting this thread to try and find someone who recognizes it or the organizations he belonged to so that I/we can pay tribute/memorial to him and his love for this car and the scene.

Neat, honestly somewhat surprised that such as "new" model would have already gathered so many accolades at shows. I wouldn't have thought these models would have already been appreciated to that degree at shows, so that's an interesting surprise ....although on the other hand, I guess the X300 is 20 years old so it is approaching "classic" status. How time flies!

Sounds like some fun discoveries, and with all those awards in mind, I'm sure the car must be very well cared for!

I don't plan to show mine as I really don't have the time and there aren't any/many events in my region that cater to British marques.... but I plan to keep mine as close to stock as possible and have even already returned a thing or two back to stock from previous owners.

Being a near daily driver (2-4 days a week) mine won't stay perfect though

I will be keeping this one mostly stock as well; the clear coat on the sunroof is cracked and peeling, so I might swap that for a piece of tinted lexan.. might maybe..

Will probably be installing some convex side mirrors and possibly a back up camera.

Besides that and a few quarks here and there maintenance is all I will be focused on.

After I get her set up right I will be taking her to some shows in honour of the previous owner

 

the jaguar club of Florida is a Central Florida club, part of jcna! i used to be a member back in 06 and 07, i also entered the Dan Ligas shows but in 06 only it takes place in clearwater. central Florida jag clubs site is catdriver.org, im sure they can give you more info on the old owner!!
