Default Last-minute Lunch Meetup - Saturday, April 12th!

I know a few of you will be able to make this. I haven't had a get-together with car enthusiasts in a while, so I thought this would be a good time with such beautiful spring weather upon us. yes, I know its last minute, but its informal, and come anytime you feel like it.

Starts: 10:30 am
Ends: 1:30 pm
Place: Hooters,1711 Cross Roads Dr., Grapevine, TX 76051

Obviously, Hooters opens at 11, but getting there at this time allows us to hang out for a bit around the cars, then go inside to eat and maybe toast a few.

Last time I met a couple members here, we parked in this area, and it was permitted without problems. Feel free to space out your cars a bit, there's plenty of parking spaces.

I'll bring my laptop loaded with SDD and my mongoose clone, in case anyone wants to mess with some functions like turning off 'drive away locking', enabling 'global close' on all cars NOT a convertible, lowering their X350s, etc., or just taking a screenshot of all of their logged codes. If you want this, please bring an SD card or USB stick to save the image/data.

I'm only posting this here in the regional section, and linking it in a couple threads posted in the XK8-XKR subforum, so if you know of other s-type, x-type, xj, xf, or f-type...or any other jaguar owner (or looking to buy one) who wants to attend, please feel free to inform them.

I'll see you all there. Oh, I'm bringing the convertible...the weather is too nice NOT to.

I currently have tentative plans for that Sat. Morning but I'm going to see if I can make it anyway if I can. It all depends on the "logistics" etc. but I'm going to do my best to be there.

Thanks to all...
John

Lots going on this Saturday. I was going to drive the vette to Cowtown Cars and Coffee 8 to 10 at Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth. Also planned to visit (but not enter) Advantage Autoworks annual show 10 to 3 in North Richland Hills because its near my parents home. Guess I'll have to switch cars and try to squeeze in another meet.

What's the problem? Cowtown from 8-9:30 in the Vette. Switch cars and hit Grapevine by 10:30. Leave by Noon and catch the last of the AA show.

Piece of cake.

My little red cat is at home in Atlanta as I'm in the process of a full suspension refurb, so I'm driving a substitute for a poor substitute, lol, drove out in my truck. Look forward to the wings, hmm, Daytona style maybe?

I saw a lot...learned a lot... ate a lot... stared at a lot of beautiful things... got a lot of great ideas and tips... ate chicken.. and had a fantastic time !!! My thanks to everyone who attended, and my thanks to H2O for setting everything up. (BTW ... for those that aren't local.. his audio setup looks like it was put there by the factory and sounds amazing ) A good time was had by all. I can't wait for the next one !

apologies in advance for the phone-camera and my deplorable skills trying to use it.

Thanks to Matt and his fellow DFW forum members. A good time seemed to be had by all, but we forgot to get pics of the cute Texas Hooters girls, man, what were we thinking!!!!? I enjoyed the company and look forward to seeing you all again, although I think I'm banned from the Lonestar unless I return driving my Jag. Ok fair enough....LOL
Just remember, any and all are welcome to the ATL, we have the greatest roads to drive in North Ga. Ok, now somebody tell me how to load the pics from my phone!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again
BK

It was a great time. Thanks Matt for making it happen. Going to try to do it again in Denton next week.

Now for 20 points, take a look at the pictures and guess which one of those Jag owners has gotten a ticket for not having a front plate installed?

The young waitresses were checking their uniforms, checking their makeup, trying to figure out what they were doing wrong when all along it was just hard to compete with Jaguars for the attention of a bunch of gearheads.

An upcoming opportunity to get together again is the All British Car Day at Dreyfuss Club Point on Sunday, May 4th. I don't know if I'll enter this year, but I look forward to visiting.

I thought I would supersize john's pics above for better viewing. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with all the guys who drove over to spend a part of their day appreciating other jags and sharing information about themselves and their cars. It was a lot of fun...for sure, and we will definitely do this again soon.

I do want to apolozgize for my tardiness in posting a followup in this thread that i started after the meet i coordinated ended Saturday. Unbeknownst to me, I was returning home to an situation that was both sad, and very confusing...i discovered i was going to be a father for the first time in my life at 42 yrs of age. My girlfriend was pregnant. The sad part is that she miscarried that morning after an estimated 6-7 weeks. I am shocked and humbled by what a woman goes thru during that process and what crazy things her body puts her through afterwards.
