Some info on Vela fitment and spacers
Hey guys, got a base 2016 Ftype this past weekend coming from a 981 cayman and a C6 vette before that and I'm definitely enjoying my first Jag.
I'm not a huge fan of the 18" velas but I do appreciate the smaller diameter given I live in Los Angeles but the wheel gap and the sunken in look is bothering me enough where I am considering alternate options. But before going out and purchasing a completely new set, I'm thinking of giving the velas a chance.
As far as spacers go, I am getting a little confused on some of the details such as needing to shave a few mm off the lugs. I'm pretty familiar with ensuring I get hubcentric spacers with the inner indexing ring. However, how wide could I go with Velas so they sit flush with the fender and I don't need to perform any modifications ( i.e shaving lugs)? Not really planning on lowering it, but thinking of powder coating it to a gunmetal or black just so it reduces the wheel gap illusion.
Appreciate your help!
