Default Suspension check - bushings?

Hi Folks

I just bought a 2003 XJ Sport with 68K miles. It handles great in traffic and on the interstate, but sometimes when I'm, say, turning into a gas station or some place where you go over a small ramp / curb I hear a clunk coming from the front right side.

I've always been mechanically inclined but after 10+ years of BMWs... they dumb you down, so any help you can offer in terms of what to look for will be much appreciated.

Could this be the bushings? If so, what should I look for?

Cheers
G

Yup, 99.9% sure bushings on the sway bar. ...you have the same setup as me, so same rules apply. Check out my thread

It could be the brakes, I had this on mine as you turn into side roads etc. You can test it by left foot braking while doing a couple of mph and turn the wheel left and then right. The dealer fixed it by cleaning the brakes and then applying a liberal amount of copper grease.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the suggestions, gents!

I'll do the brake test first - sounds like a pretty straightforward test.

Is there a quick way to get a visual inspection on the bushings or do I need to pull them out to see?

Best
