Default Jaguar XE launch London Sept 2014 - Start to Finish

Well, the wait is over and we can finally announce that a candidate has been chosen for the amazing opportunity as offered by Jaguar North America.
  • The experience will include:
  • All expenses paid trip to London for the reveal of the 2015 Jaguar XE
  • A dedicated Jaguar staff member in attendance to facilitate the experience including a hosted welcome dinner
  • Attendance at the Jaguar XE World Premiere held at Earls Court One
  • A headline performance by Emeli Sande and special guests
The selected individual will:
  • Document the experience from start to finish (there will be a specific thread for this purpose)
  • Share the experience both here on Jaguarforums.com and on social media sites as well.
  • Consider participating in future XE events held in North America
A stringent selection process involving various criteria meant that Jaguar North America had several strong candidates to choose from, and the candidate selected is…Thermo (Chris Coleman)!
Well-done Chris, you lucky, lucky devil. Suffice to say we are all more than a little envious, but look forward to sharing your experience of this once in a lifetime event.

We're waiting for Chris to document the experience from start to finish right here in this thread.....
From the selection process, the logistics involved, travelling arrangements, hotels, The London experience and of course, the main event.....The Jaguar XE unveiling to the world!

There may be an opportunity for any members close to the area to have a "mini meet" with Chris, look for a thread in the UK section!

We anticipate many posts detailing the process, pics etc so please check back regularly and feel free to comment.

Once again, congrats Chris.

Any social media you belong to that we can follow outside this forum? Would be great to see Instagram pics as you travel along on your journey. Facebook?

Congrats again, I echo the sentiments that you totally deserve this.

Cheers,
Justin

Have fun Chris - well deserved and can't wait to hear how the trip goes. As a Londoner born and bred, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you to my home town - and what a great way to pay visit!

Now, as far as blogging goes, you are going to have to find a suitable quiet spot from which to blog. To help with that, can I recommend a copy of "the good beer guide" which is a listing guide to the best pubs in London and the rest of the UK. Good beer and a quality pub experience is guaranteed at every location listed in the guide - i never go anywhere without it when travelling in the uk.

Paul, I am getting a new passport. The government has all the info and I should be hearing something back in the near future. I am making plans and should be getting the info back from the organizer here shortly. The list of what is happening is as follows (atleast as far as I know):

-being picked up at my house by the group and driven to the airport and flying to London on 9/8
-The evening of 9/8, planned get together with the organizers for supper.
-Monday 9/9, the big event, the car show, a concert, and lots of chit chatting with the other people that have been invited to the viewing
-Tuesday, driven back to the airport, flying home with the group picking me up at the airport and dropping me off at home. I wonder if they will pick me up in a Jag?

Hey Chris,
Can't think of anyone more deserving than you for this reward..... its all good and I am very pleased for you.
Clearly not a jet setter - but you will enjoy the experience I'm sure.
I just don't understand why you would not be driven home in a new XE and be allowed to keep it.

All the best and Bon Voyage....

Eden, you can kinda look at the new XE as continuing the X-Type line. Granted, could also use the same analogy for the S-Type. Granted, the X-Type is probably a bit more inline as the X-Type was modeled after the XJ and the new XE takes a lot of the XJ lines too.

Trust me, I plan on blowing up my camera with tons of pics. I don't plan on getting a lot of sleep while I am there. To much I want to see and do and sleep is just wasting that time.
