Default Rear Tread plates ( Coverts )

Questions are asked about these so a few answers and a couple of photos.

These are the polished plates that protect the rear cills from damage by passenger’s shoes. They also enhance the appearance of the car.
As far as I can find out they come in two finishes – “Bright “ and “Satin”
I am assuming mine are satin. The central part with “Jaguar “ is in a chrome finish and the rest of the plate surround is satin.
My rear plates had double sided sticky tape on them so they are easy to fit.
The plates are at first sight surprisingly small. 10.25” /26cm long.
I bought mine off Ebay so do not have the part number. I was quoted £107 a pair.

Part number is C2S 21622 for Bright finish.

I suspect the tread plates for S Types are identical.
(Can anyone confirm that as it would help when watching Ebay for them?)

Similar they may be but it would be very unusual for Jaguar if they were the identical.

Note the variation in Part Numbers across the VIN ranges in both models.

Henry,

Jim (Admin) was having this same issue with images yesterday but it seemed to resolve itself later in the day.

I'll attach again here as thumbnails.

Those look great...think I'll 'field modify' a pair of salvage yard FRONT sill plates to fit my car's rear door sills?!?! Regards, Andy

I too have these on my car - to be honest they're pretty small, but they do tidy the sill up nicely. They'd look more impressive on a non-silver car.

Apologies for the messy state of the carpet - time to clean it I think!

Regards

Rob
