Talking So, who has the most miles?

I was thinking about how my car has 173k on it, but is in great shape and runs wonderfully...it got me thinking, I wonder what kind of miles other x type owners have on theirs. Could be fun...I'll start...

2004 2.5 5 speed with 173k miles.

I'm waiting to hear some high numbers like 175K + miles. That would be pretty re-assuring.

In October 2010, I sold my 2002 X-type 2.5L to a friend. It had 176k miles then. She told me today it has close to 300k. So, if you're looking for reassurance that the car is made to last, that should do it!

I have a 2004 2.5 Manual with about 119K miles. Impressed that someone got it to 300K!

I actually bought mine in December from a random used car lot. I am the 2nd owner though and the first owner seems to have taken care if it nicely. I found a bunch of receipts in it for oil changes and other maintenance things but as far as I know it hasn't had anything major fixed. The front shocks were blown when I got it though...so that was the excuse I used to get the KW coilovers ha. The only real problems I have is the AC blowing warm out of the drivers side, cold on the passanger (I just need to get round to fixing that) and I believe I need new bushings in a few suspension parts, but that's fine, since its a good reason to get a set of polly bushings ha.

Of the top of my head i can guess ur ac problem is caused by a heater valve not working, this could be either the heater valve, or the computer not activating the heater valve. you could go to home depot buy some vicegrips and grip the hoses going to your heater as a cheap momentary fix. also what i do for some customers who are short on money is jump the control for one heater to both and increase the fuse amp rating... but eventually both controls on the computer screw up...

Best of luck!

I never see an x type with so many miles take good care of that rare cat!

Just hit 163K. Still running original tranny, transfer case, engine, fuel and water pump etc etc. No problems just leaks (but as long as you are keen to keep fluids checked it should be fine). Paint is on par or even better than new Jags at the dealership and is still original.

I'm right at 155,000, original tranny, transfer case, and engine here too...the only thing I've done is preventative maintenance such as the starter, fuel pump, spark plugs, etc. I did have to replace the coolant tank, and a vaccum line, but other than that no big issues. I do need to change the shocks...I'm assuming they are from the factory since I bought the car @ 40k and haven't changed them!

It has even survived an attack from a rather large tree several years back:

All it took was a bit of rubbing compound...and the factory paint still looks great today. These cars are built to last with proper maintenance!

creeping up on 180K, 2nd owner, jag select replaced the tranny @100K,regular synth oil changes, fuel filters every 30K, rear diff and transfer case oil changed twice, front wheel bearings, outer tierods, struts&shocks, rear sway bushings, rear "dogbones", second set of brakes(pads&rotors) on all four corners, and lots-n-lots of tires!
