Default URGENT HELP! We are going mad....

Please can you help me?! We have X Type 2001 reg 3.0. Occasionally over the last few weeks the display will state "Drivers Door Open", the central locking will not come on at 5mph and (big issue) the key fob will not lock the car as it thinks the door is open. So I am locking the door manually and the central internal light stays on all night. Tonight's issue is that the alarm is now sounding every 15 minutes even if I turn the ignition on and off... Now, I am sure this is a microswitch problem (2 hours of surfing and I am now an expert) but the question is WHAT THE H*LL AM I GOING TO DO ALL NIGHT TO STOP THE ALARM GOING OFF AND MY BATTERY DRAINING????????????? ALL (and I mean all) suggestions welcome.

I would manually lock the doors and then disconnect the battery. That will atleast shut up the car and not drain the battery. Then you can reconnect the battery in the morning and get to where you need to be. But, unfortunately, short of disconnecting the battery, not much else that I can think of to keep the car quiet.

AKA..hard reboot, and yes replace the door latch, unless you manage to find a microswitch that will work...me, I would replace it, new or used and be done

Default UPDATE - thank you!!!

Well, I realised that I had roadside cover so called a man with a screwdriver. He was useless. But the garage said the following morning that to reset, all you need to do is open ALL doors (including the boot) in order to reset the car. They said YOU SHOULD NOT use the key in the door (manual opening) as this upsets the automatic sensor readings. It all seems perfectly fine - even the message board telling me that the driver door is open has gone off for now) except that the door kit is all going to have to be replaced due to the microsensor failing. With cables, labour, etc etc that'll be a cool £425 please....... Thanks again, bunty.
