Is 1000.00 to 1400.00 a correct price for a pump replacement???

 

Shop on eBay. And see if you can't do it how much a local guy would put it in for you. If you can do it yourself it will take about 4 hours or less.

 

The fuel tank has to be dropped..and actually there is two fuel pumps..

The X has what is called a saddle tank, so one pump transfers fuel from one side to the other, while another pump sends it to the fuel rail on the engine....So the price sounds about right..

is there a hole under seat cushion to get pump out? this link is to remove tank, Do you have a link to remove pump only? thanks

 

You have to remove the tank.
