Default 02 x-type sport part it out or sell it?

02 x-type sport, part it out or sell it? Need to let go of the jag, but how to get the most money back? What do you guys think, anyone have any experience in parting out a jag? I would like to just sell it, but their just doesn't seem to be a market for it in my area. Any help would appreciated.

Parting it out here would probably be beneficial.

What's wrong with it, crashed or broken?

Sorry for the late response. The jag is in great shape aside for a cracked windshield, blown ac pump, and a leaking seal on the transfer case. We are buying a small suv and will not have a need for the jag anymore.

If you have room to store it and are prepared to wait to maximise the return, parting out will most likely bring more $$'s.

I've only ever parted one Jaguar myself. After an initial quick success on trim, engine and doors, other parts went very slowly and I had the rolling shell towed to a scrapyard after six months just to get it out of the way.

You really want to go through all that trouble and time to take parts off the car, list them somewhere, pack them, ship them, etc.? How long do you want to mess with this. Like Graham said, it could be a long time. For what it's worth, I wouldn't bother with it. Your time is probably more valuable. Or maybe try and sell it as is and see what you can get. Your issues don't exactly sound terminal.

Where are you located? If the car runs and drives you should be able to sell it?

I noticed that Bend is home of the Central Oregon Community College, and that they offer quite a few programs including a Master Automotive Technician Certification.

Many times, a vehicle like your Jaguar is just the kind of car they are looking for, for class projects.

Your contribution of it to the program would likely be tax deductible, and offer your X Type a chance at a new life!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Bruce that would be great, but unfortunately I need to recover some of my money on the jag. I will be dropping 30k+ on a new Subaru, and whatever I can get out of the jag will help take some of the sting out of the new purchase.

I want front fog light socket, piece between lamp and wiring harness. You have to take out 5 screws to access, 2 inside wheel well and 3 underneath bumper, you can pull the plastic down, reach in and twist it out.
Also I could use the ashtray and the lighter. The battery box, the plastic box the battery sits in. And if you have the CD magazine for the CD changer, yes I want!
You could ship all inside the battery box.
PM me please if you get around to messing with it.

Hi
I'm interested in a number on interior parts. Namely all the small plastic bits from the rear shelf, like the baby seat plastic clip things, and the small moldings that the rear belts go into. Also both sun visors. I also need the brake pressure sensor that is on the side of the ABS module. It just screws out I think.
If your rims are in good shape I may be interested in those too. Mine have some curb rash!
PM me if you can help me. I'm in Florida.
Thanks... Jeff

I'll buy your grill assembly from you. And, if you have the double cup holders, I'll buy the center console as well. What color is your interior?

Do you have an ACM? Nav? Bluetooth?

Which wheels do you have on it? What condition are they in?

Do you have a rear trunk lip (spoiler)?

Thanks.

It's a rather radical concept, but what about just trading it in?

$4500, cannot say for your car. But for an idea, your car selling for $4500 will be a very clean example with under 70k miles, good history and no issues. Good used examples with 150K+ bring around $33-3600. I just got mine recently and was keeping an eye on prices. Parts cars, bad engine or tranny bring around $1000.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, as there are a few parts I'm looking for as well...
