Default 03 x type erractic lights.........

Ok folks,
We got through the hesitation problems and running like a true Jag.
My other problem is truly wierd and maybe the car is just haunted.
It concerns rear brake/tail lights.
When lights are on and brake is applied, tail lights go out and yellow directionals come on(dim).
When lights are on and car is put in reverse, instead of reverse lights yellow directionals come on(dim).
Blinker speeds up if brake is applied as well.
All the time,3rd brakelight is unaffected.
I know you guys can point me in the right direction......

Thanks in advance,
Bowhunter

What codes are you pulling off the lighting controller diagnostic port?
Just being funny
Did you check the harness connectors for any burnt terminals?
Pull them and check, I think that is one of Thermos 1st suggestions.

bowhunter, sounds like your ground wire is getting damaged. PUll off the plug to the tail lights and check the second pin in and see if it is discolored (ie, overheated). If that is the case, you will need to clean up the terminals and restore them back to a silver state. Otherwise, you will need to do some looking around and seeing if you can find some new pins for the connector and hope that the heat damage hasn't progressed too far up the wiring.

Bow, not a problem. I follow what problems we have with our cars and I get track of what the problem is and the fix. Hence why I jumped on the ground wire issue.
