I just bought this used 03 X-type and it is missing a piece to the factory lower "grille". I have seen this plastic piece on every other X-type but do not know what it is called exactly so am having issues finding a replacement.

Basically, it is a horizontal painted piece of plastic that goes from left to right (obviously) in the middle of the lower grille area. I am not looking to go with the mesh grille, but just want to replace the OEM piece. Right now, I just have some black pieces of plastic that probably clip on to this horizontal sitting piece in the middle of the grille.

Please let me know if you have any ideas at all where to find this, or better yet, the name of this part.

is called a slpitter, a remaned ones runs u clopse to 600 bucks

 

good lord lol. I had no idea it was that much. Its really not that noticeable, I'll just save the money for a few and buy and aftermarket mesh grille. I saw a few postings on here of some buyers that found some decent items. I just dont want some cheap piece of garbage.

i actually found that splitter online through some company in the UK. I am going to order it friday, cost me about $50 USD for the item with shipping. Believe it or not, it is actually a new part and comes primered already. I'll start up the big compressor and paint gun and throw a good coat of black gloss on it.

Make sure it goes from left to right, not from right to left.

 

ya no kidding. i actually did email them to make sure it is exactly what I am looking for. I don't know what kinda of crap they got goin on over there in the UK so I had to make sure. I should hear back from them in the next day or two so I'll order it then and post the results afterwards.
