patterson, some manufacturers use the metal clip that holds the bulb in place to make contact with one of the posts to then complete the circuit. You need to get an H1 bulb socket which should have 2 posts on it. On the connectors like you have there is a single posts that sticks out the back and then you have a metal ring that is the other post. Your other option is to stop by the local hardware store and find some spade connectors (large size). Those should be large enough to slide on to the posts of the headlight bulb. From there, you just strip back a little bit of the insulation, crimp the lugs on and then attach the wires to the bulb. Polarity does not matter with the halogen bulbs.

Thanks Thermo, The new harness claims to be for H1, but as I pulled off the H1 sticker, behind it reads H11. Idk if that's my problem, but I guess this one won't work in my car....

Patterson, it almost looks like you have two clips that melted together. From working on my car's headlights, I can tell you that I have two plastic clips. One connects to the back of the bulb and the other is a ground that connects to the bucket itself. Each of these only has a single wire coming out of it.

I'm not sure where, but I know I saw just the ends that connect to the bulb/housing for sale and I think they were only a few dollars. You may have to replace both of those ends first before you can go about using that new harness from ebay.

If you have one good side (not melted) you can refer to it and see what I'm talking about. However, mine is an '05 and I'm not sure that our wiring is exactly the same. But, from looking at your picture, my wires are the same colors so I'm thinking it's the same.

If you look where the wire clips hold the bulb in place to the bucket you will see a convenient male spade connector right there. Splice a female spade to your Brown wire and ground it there. Splice your single wire H1 bulb holder to the Yellow wire.

I never heard about the Silverstars before. I changed out my bulbs a few years ago and I am pretty sure that is what I used. Before I always used PIAA but this time I just went to the auto parts store, or maybe Walmart. Do PIAA bulbs cause the same problems? Also can you see this damage without removing the housing completly? I do remember what a PIA it was to change the low beams on the passenger side.

Thanks emaraszek and mohrd, I had missed the spade that is part of the bucket, never saw it. I took a pic today and I think Mohrd's advice is the simplest.

You should see my headlight units then. All the adjustment screws had been broken, I even tried glue but it doesn't work. What I ended up doing was using small gauge electrical wire and a couple of small screws to lock the lights into place. It's not perfect but it's a lot better then the lights facing down on the bumper. I must of had 10 percent visibility before I used the speaker wire to lock lights into place.

That is the cheapest fix. Total cost of about 5 bucks. For the connections on the light you can use the standard electrical kit connectors but if the first ones melted there must be a continuity problem and the fuse should of caught it before the wire connector melt down. Good luck.
