Default 06-07 Models - Smoked Tail lamps?

I saw a new X-Type the other day and I couldn't help but notice that the tail lamps looked had a darker tint than mine did obviously. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? If not, I wonder how much it'd be to get my hands on some of those b/c they'd look great on my car

The car brand new though...still had dealer plates and the paperwork in the window...

I'm gonna go to my local dealer today and see if I find any. If I do, I'll post some pix

SpartanX I doubt it it was smoked. Smoking your tailights is very bad. if someone rear ends you, you can be at fault when it really isnt because the driver can say he never saw your tail lights at night. My opinion do not do that. Also I heard they are illegal.

I personally think it looks kind of ugly as well, but there are companies who sell films to smoke out your tail lights: http://www.decalfx.com/smoked_tail_light_film.html
It's around $40.

What? LOL...

These were FACTORY SMOKED Tail lamps, which are legal here in the states as long as they are factory spec tail lamps. Not some aftermarket crap that you see on Honda Civics. They were similar to these...

Looked pretty damn good, too.

the brake light in the tailight will be smoked if you do an aftermarket. As you can see a factory smokked headlight isnt smoked on the whole tailight. Look at the factory, the whole thing is not smoked.

You don't have to have your entire light smoked if you get it done via aftermarket. You can buy OEM lamps that just have the turn signal smoked, which is what I meant in the first place.

Obviously, a factory spec tail will not have the entire lamp smoked...

Then what the hell is the point of smking a x-type tailight since most of the tailight is just the brake light lol.

Actually I smoked the taillights on my monte and the stuff used is totally transparent...Once your lights come on you can see the lights real easily...i didn't put too much on but it totally made it look awesome...anyone saying its ugly is crazy! Its way uglier to put chrome allover your vehicle blinding other people on the road!

What were you going to say aloise? Here's my monte with nightshade and clear on the taillights. You still can see the red in the lights...but it does add a more sleek look...i didn't have as thick of a coating as the other people I posted...

If anyone can honestly tell me that the picture above looks better than my monte well screw you!

It was irrelevant to this thread, but I was going to ask you about underbody lights until I re-read your post and realized that wasn't your Tiburon. In any case though, I'll ask my question just in case you or anyone has any knowledge on the subject. I was wondering if anyone had installed one of those underbody light kits and I was wondering what it entailed. I've always wanted green neons on my Jag (even though I've been told their illegal and out of style), but I'm not really a D.I.U. kind of guy. Although, I think it'd be worth a shot as long as I don't have to drill any holes or anything. I'd like to get a kit that has a remote control, so if anyone has any experience with these, please let me know.

If you put underbody on a Jaguar, I will hunt you down and chop you up in pieces and bury you in the four corners of the United States. After I set you on fire.

Are we clear?

Sir, Yes Sir!

May I however ask you why are so anti-underbody on Jags? (I'm a teenager might I add, professionalism isn't a concern of mine)

Hey aloise i actually will check for you if you'd like...a guy I get car audio from has a led kit I think was under 100 bucks for the entire car. I have a wholesale book and they have a kit made by lg liteglow and the price in my book is 125 and it comes with

(2) 4-button remotes
(2) 46" side tubes
(2) 36" end tubes
a control module with sound sensivitity music interface
memory chip that retains settings
expandable system-add up to 1 to 4 more led tubes
water resistant high impact acrylic tubes
installation hardware.

model numbe3r TG7LED

There is another one with 4 tubes 2 are 6" and 2 are 9" that one is 40....

I don't know if they have them in-stock but they aren't too terribly expensive. I have no experience with them but the other guy I get stuff from has had them mounted on his display for over a year and hasn't had any problems with them...
