very common problem for this car for one rear brake caliper to get stuck on. It happened to me, and has happened to other members on more than one occasion. Get under the car and follow the ebrake cables to the splitter where the cable goes from 2 separate caliper cables to the main ebrake cable. With the ebrake DISENGAGED, there should be no slack in either of the individual caliper cables. If there is slack in one of the cables, then the caliper with the slack in the cable is stuck in the engaged position and you will have to replace that rear caliper.
Speed needle not moving is most likely the small motor behind the dash which controls it. Seen this issue fixed with a new gauge cluster off ebay.

Ace, sounding like you have a stuck e-brake lever. Start up the car, take it for a spin around the block and then put your hand near all 4 wheels. If you have a stuck caliper, it will be very obvious. If you do, let me know as I have a lot of experience with fixing the calipers on our cars.
As for the speedo needle, that can be a symptom of the car not wanting to move as things could be from 2 bad wheel speed sensors and now the tranny is not sure where it needs to be. It is essentially asking itself if the car is moving or is it standing still. It is not sure since 2 wheels could be saying yes and 2 are saying no. Get the codes read using a higher end code reader and see if you are getting a C1145/C1155/C1165/C1175 code.
