Default 2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5

Is there a sensor that controls AC interior temp. When exterior temp reaches over 100, interior temp goes from cold to hot and back. AC is charged with refrigerant.

Default AC sensor

Yes, there is a cabin temperature sensor and it is the small aspirator fan unit found behind a small grill on the dash just to the right of the steering column. This fan begins to operate the instant you open the driver's door and remains in operation until 15 minutes or so after the engine is shut off. If you do not hear this fan in operation (the engine does not need to be running) then this could be all or part of the problem.

Default Aspirator fan unit sensor not running.

The aspirator fan is not running, how do you get to this part?

The aspirator fan ("in-car sensor") is part # C2S 13944, and the cost is about $45 max.

Without this sensor in operation, the climate control is just guessing.
I hope this is helpful.
