2002 US 3.0 X-Type Engine Locked Down. Need Help
Greetings and salutations!
I'm in the process of resurrecting a 2002 X-type five speed. It's been sitting for apx 10 years. It has 81k miles. The initial scan was P16547 (bank two O2 sensor) and P1001 (emission test not complete). I replaced the bank two O2 sensor. Bank two plugs black with soot, rich, bank one plugs looked good clean burn. I pulled the intake and spark plugs to add a small amount of Marvels to the cylinders before attempting a start. I removed the fuel pressure gauge hook up Schrader valve and hooked up a hose to a bottle to capture fuel. I turned the engine over with the starter (plugs out). The first time about seconds then another five seconds. The first two attempts it turned over with vigor. The third time it started to turn then stopped. The fourth attempt you could just hear the starter try to turn. The engine will not turn over with the starter. I pulled the starter. I pulled the right front wheel and was able to turn the engine backwards about 40 degrees then it stops. It will turn 40 degrees forward then stop. (serpentine belt off). I'm not familiar with this engine. Is there something in the timing chain circuit that could have failed? Thank you.
