Hi guys,

My 02 2.5L AT had P0778 code and had completely no gears. I replaced the 2/4 brake duty solenoid and TOP off new ATF into the tranny. Now I have forward gears. Car can be driven forward. However it still doesn't have reverse. When I put the shifter to 'R', I couldn't feel the strong engagement feeling as that when I put the shifter into 'D'. I read several threads, the common causes are either the reverse band is loose or the reverse solenoid is shot. My questions are:

1. Where exactly is the band bold located outside of the tranny? And anyone tried the easy method which uses a strong magnet to pull the band into position and tighten the bolt?

2. I am not quite sure, which solenoid is 'reverse solenoid' in the main valve body. What's the corresponding name in the workshop manual? And if it's shot, why there was no code pointing to this problem?
